The Shire's Council Woes

Fiesty had a headache, one that pounded continually as she sat, bleakly listening to hobbits speechify in the Hobbit’s new council chambers. The newly elected council members nattered on and on. She had been forced, because of Tobo’s death and the general fear of the Hobbits of the Shire, to form a council where the representatives could have their say.

Myrtle Sackville was making a speech on her right to lead the council, because of her recent loss. Her speech was peppered with oblique references to the lack of leadership they had been under and how she would “make the Shire great again”. Fiesty sighed inwardly and cast a glance to her right, where, Doderic Brandybuck sat, quietly listening. As if hearing her thoughts Doderic glanced at her grimacing in disgust. She could make out his mouth saying “fool hobbit” with a roll of his eyes.

Doderic was young Andwise Brandybuck’s father, his patience and good sense was much appreciated by Fiesty, especially now. Fiesty was still the Arch Druid of the Shire but in the current upheaval, she needed to go carefully.

Her thoughts turned to the soothing forest glade she usually walks through. That will do the trick and calm her nerves. That is if she could just get through this “dang” council meeting without exploding.

My Apologies for not have a pic of Fiesty for this. But, imagine her, quite the young Hobbit. Too, she is owner of the Hobbit Lands and an Arch Druid beyond imagination.
