Smeagol Shade Begins to Reminisce

Smeagol Shade in the Underdark

Smeagol Shade: "Us is all alone," he says a pitiful little voice as he sits on the edge of a murky pond in the Underdark, holding a putrid, smelly fish up, their eyes meeting, Smeagol's eyes almost languid as he peers at what he imagines to be his only friend.  The other, the fish, was quite dead and to any other would exude a most unpleasant smell. Still it was Smeagol's friend and Smeagol loved the fish.

Smeagol Shade: The other, the small being, was uglier than ugly, his eyes were overly large and wide. His bulging eyes pleaded life; yet, they were empty of signs of life, of hope and of expectation. His body was broken and wilted and he walked almost as if in a squat. Sometimes, he crawled. It was easier to maneuver the deep crevices of the Underdark.

Smeagol Shade: "Us IS all alone. Us gots each other. Us don't have any friends," and his words slowed and stopped as he scratched his long nails into his crusty scalp which long since had shed and lost most all but a few raspy strands, now crusty and broken and ragged like the little creature himself.

Smeagol Shade: "Us had a home once, Us was..." and he blinks. "I think Us was happy once." and his lips purse and he stares harder at the fish. "Does Us know what happy was?" Then his long nails rake along the side of the fish almost lovingly before he draws it to his chest for what appears a gentle hug.

*Smeagol is not the well known character of the famed LoTR books. His story is different, yet compelling. Most of his roleplay will be solo for as he said, "Us has no friend." His story will evolve slowly. We hope you enjoy getting to know Smeagol Shade.

A Faery's Plight

Morganza Spellway sits at her window looking  across the expanse of her lands with a worried frown on her face, "Giselle, come comb my hair."

Breena, the land of Faeries

Morganza Spellway: Gisele looks at her mistress noting the worried frown on her face. "What is wrong mistress?" Giselle asks.

Morganza Spellway sighs.  "I am worried about the evil I sense in our lands. I found a wilted flower. Something is wrong with our lands."

Morganza Spellway: Gisele says,  "Mi'lady, I have heard rumors there is a demon amongst these lands. I fear for you mi'lady."

Morganza Spellway: "The neighboring lands you say? has a demon? That would explain a lot."

Morganza Spellway: Gisele brushes the long red tresses lovingly as she replies, "A Druid, mi'lady,  is the king of those lands.

Morganza Spellway: "Hmm, maybe I need to see this Druid King. I will write a missive, Gisele. You will take it to him. I trust none else with this task."

Morganza Spellway: Gisele blinks at her mistress, "Yes, milady."

Morganza Spellway: "Okay, let me write the missive. You take it in the morning to him."

Morganza Spellway scribbles a few words on the paper and seals it with a fairy spell that makes the letter only open for the Druid. She smiles, "I feel a  little better."

Morganza Spellway: "Okay, Gisele, that is enough. Thank you for combing my hair."

Morganza Spellway: "Oh mi'lady, I am yours to command," and Gisele bows and leaves the room.

Morganza Spellway stretches and takes in a deep breath, something is foul in the air. She turns the lamp down and lays down on bed and falls asleep.

Kathena and Xella Fight About the Demon

Kathena Mavendorf rummages through her things in her vardo, making a pack and attaching a dagger to her thigh. She mutters to herself, "This filthy Drow has hurt someone I love for the last time!"

Kathena

Xella Steward goes to the gypsy camp, knowing she will have to lie her rear off.

Xella

Kathena Mavendorf hears noise outside so she steps out of her vardo, spotting her beautiful mer friend Xella. She smiles sweetly at her and runs to embrace her. "Hello dearest. Are you well?"

Xella Steward hugs back, a bit stiff.

Xella Steward shakes head and backs up slightly.

Kathena Mavendorf furrows her brow with worry, "What's the matter? Did...did he come back? Did he hurt you?"

Xella Steward smiles softly.

Xella Steward smiles at her and hugs.

Kathena and Xella

Xella Steward: "I don't think...I can hunt the demon with you."

Kathena Mavendorf looks confused, but nods, "I would not want to put you in harms way. You are my dear friend Xella."

Xella Steward looks at her and holds her hand.

Xella Steward: "I don't want you hunting him either,"

Xella Steward looks into her eyes, knowing she will do all she can to protect those she cares about.

Kathena Mavendorf blinks with a blank expression not sure what she means, "What do you mean Xella?"

Xella Steward: "The demon will kill you, just like he did Dina."

Xella Steward: "He is trying to protect himself."

Kathena Mavendorf eyes tear up a bit with pain and anger combined. With her jaw clenched, "He is trying to destroy us! He's already killed Dina. He's kidnapped and tortured me trying to get information on Jaekob. HE IS A MONSTER!"

Xella Steward hugs her tight.

Xella Steward sighs.

Xella Steward: "He is misunderstood."

Kathena Mavendorf is very stiff and trembling with anger. She pulls away and looks at her with controlled anger. "Xella, I know you to be naive, but I never thought you stupid!"

Xella Steward blinks and stares at her.

Xella Steward: "I am not stupid."

Xella and Katthena

Kathena Mavendorf is flushed and trembling, begins to pace trying to control her anger. "He hunted me down, like I was prey.....he took me against my will, took GREAT pleasure in causing me pain, and killed our dearest friend!" Pauses her pacing to look at her directly, "You would believe this.....THING...is misunderstood?!"

Xella Steward looks at her, into her eyes.

Xella Steward: "Please, I don't want you to get hurt!"

Xella Steward sighs and passes, shaking.

Kathena Mavendorf walks up to her and looks her directly in her eyes. Speaking in a very deliberate and slow pace with her voice showing signs of strain as she keeps herself from shouting. "I don't care if I DIE in this pursuit, but I swear to you on all the gods, my ancestors and Dina's spirit....I WILL TAKE HIM WITH ME!" shouting her last words, her anger overtaking her.

Kathena Mavendorf takes a couple of steps towards her vardo then turns to face her again. "And anyone that stands in my way, is NO better than he!"

Xella Steward stands, and looks at her, "Kat..."

Xella Steward nods and walks to her, her eyes glowing.

Kathena Mavendorf watches her carefully, worried about the glow in her eyes.

Xella Steward: "Kat, come here."

Kathena Mavendorf breathes loudly then steps closer.

Xella Steward: "Kat, look into my eyes."

Kathena Mavendorf arches an eyebrow, her hand immediately moving to grasp her amulet instinctively for protection, "Are you going to help me?"

Xella Steward nods "Yes, ill help you."

Xella Steward eyes glow as she trys to hypnotize her.

Kathena Mavendorf feels a strange pull coming from Xella keeping her from walking away. Her mind beginning to panic. She grasps her amulet hard in her hand to the point it begins to cut into her skin.

Xella Steward: "Kat, you do not want to hunt the demon."

Xella Steward's voice is calm and hypnotic.

Kathena Mavendorf for a moment she hears Xella as an echo in her mind. Her sight becomes fuzzy and she struggles to keep herself calm.

Xella Steward watches Kat and keeps stareing into his eyes.

Kathena Mavendorf hears herself screaming in her mind, focusing all of her thoughts on the pain the Demon caused, Dina's dead body, Jaekob suffering.

Xella Steward touches Kat's face "Do not fight, you will be killed."

Xella Steward feels a tear fall as she stares into Kat's eyes.

Kathena Mavendorf the moment she felt Xella touch her face, she reacted. Kathena begins to chant an incantation in an ancient language of her people as she grasps her amulet, softly at first, but then louder and louder until she is able to close her eyes, as she screams the words out loud.

Xella Steward jumps back, wincing as the her spell chatters.

Kathena Mavendorf pulls away from Xella, finally free. And looks at her with seething anger and pain, "How COULD you?!!!!"

Xella Steward looks at her, "I wanted to help you."

Xella Steward: "I only tried to keep you......safe."

Kathena Mavendorf still grasping her amulet, "You stay away from me! You hear me?! If you EVER try that again, I swear I will forget you are my friend and I will end you!"

Xella Steward backs up trembling.

Xella Steward runs into the woods.

Kathena Mavendorf pulls her dagger and throws it hard against a nearby tree with a rage filled scream, the dagger impaling into the trunk.

The Demon goes to Market

Saphira Mistwalker wrinkles her nose at a sudden odd odor that moves across the courtyard.

Ilmryn Xyltyn crosses over the bridge, flicking his tongue in the air and walks into the city, his arms crossed, his face passive, watching the people.

Morganza Spellway shivers as she see the Drow.

Morganza Spellway: "You did not say a Drow lived here."

Juste Rivers turns his head to look at the stranger as his eyes widen and he runs behind Fiesty, ""Der is one of dem dowries Missy Fiesty. He gone murder us all."

Morganza Spellway looks at the Drow worriedly.

Saphira Mistwalker glances in the direction the lady is looking, and tilts her head as she realizes this is the source of the odd odor and sensation she is getting.

Fiesty Lotus turns and examines the creature.

Saphira Mistwalker: "A drow you say? Hmm, he smells ... odd."

Morganza Spellway sniffs the air but smells nothing but food.

Ilmryn Xyltyn moves closer, his arms still crossed, a bit of a smile stretching onto his lips, "Do I disturb? I did not mean to, I assure you. His Majesty told me I am welcome if I....behave."

Fiesty Lotus: "Welcome sir, I expect you come to partake of the marketplace?"

Morganza Spellway moves away.

Saphira Mistwalker: "I have encountered Drow before. Welcome my lord Drow."

Fiesty Lotus stands stiff, tuning into the elements.

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods his head to the hobbit, "Indeed, gentle one."  he says inhaling a deep unnecessary breath realizing the powe the hobbit possesses.

Saphira Mistwalker nervously runs her hands over the hilts of her daggers, not quite sure about this drow.

Juste Rivers whispers to Fiesty, "Is he gone murder us dead?" and then he looks at the dragon and runs behind her which is a bit further away.

Fiesty Lotus waits patiently.

Morganza Spellway more curious than before at this mixture of people.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Allow me to introduce myself? I am Ilmryn Xyltyn," he says with a smile that looks more like a smirk, as he grabs the tail of his coat and bows with a flourish.

Morganza Spellway: "Nice to meet you sir Drow. I am Morg."

Saphira Mistwalker: "I am called Saphira Mistwalker, emissary of the shadow dragon clan."

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods to the faery.

Saphira Mistwalker curtsies.

Fiesty Lotus: "I am Fiesty Lotus, Druid of these lands."

Morganza Spellway worridly watches him.

Morganza Spellway sucks in breath, the little one is a Druid.

Ilmryn Xyltyn swallows looking from the dragon to the hobbit realizing these lands possess more power than the one Druid. "A pleasure to meet you Lady Saphira, Druid Fiesty and Morg the Faery. I assure you I mean no harm," he says softly watching Saphira's hands on her daggers.

Juste Rivers: "'Im's a dowry. 'im gone kill me," Juste finally screams and dives under the market stall.

Saphira Mistwalker takes a deep breath and smiles, remembering her vow to her clan concerning interactions with two-legs.

Ilmryn Xyltyn chuckles at the frightened hobbit, "I assure you, I mean no harm to any of you," he says licking his tongue over his teeth.

Fiesty Lotus says mildly, "Would you care to purchase some goods? Squab in cinnamon sauce , bread or some goats milk perhaps?"

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Will you accept barter," he asks pulling a small gem from his pouch. "I have traveled from from the mountains in the East and the Squab sounds....fine though am accustomed to less cooked fare."

Saphira Mistwalker frowns at the Drow, then smiles at Lady Fiesty. "Some goat's milk would be lovely my lady."

Fiesty Lotus reaches for her power but stands. seeming relaxed.

Juste Rivers moans and whimpers under the stall, an arm reaching out and upward to grab a chicken leg which he munches happily almost forgetting his terror.

Fitheach Eun wanders into the market and is surprised to see a Drow.

Ilmryn Xyltyn turns to see the elf and nods, "Vendui, Lady."

Saphira Mistwalker smiles warmly at the the elf lady. "Vedui my lady."

Fiesty Lotus says, not taking her eyes from the Drow, "Ahh , that will be just 2 coppers, Lady Saphira."

Fitheach Eun: "Quel re."

Saphira Mistwalker: "Two coppers, yes, of course."

Fiesty Lotus: "Druid Fit!"

Fitheach Eun sees her druid sister and smiles, "Druid Fiesty. So good to see you."

Saphira Mistwalker smiles and hands Lady Fiesty the coins.

Morganza Spellway: "Ah, another Druid. Excellent."

Fiesty Lotus: "Thank you dear - you May serve yourself."

Fitheach Eun: "It is good to see you my sister; it has been some time."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: His nostrils flare as he senses more power and wonders about the elf. "You... are a Druid milady?" he asks flourishing a bow to her.

Fitheach Eun tilts my head and stares at the Drow.

Fitheach Eun: "Yes. I am a Druid."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "How, lovely. There are THREE of you then."

Fitheach Eun walks over to stand by Fiesty; looking unconcerned.

Saphira Mistwalker giggles. "That explains what attracted me to these lands as I flew over. So much magical energy."

Fitheach Eun turns and sees a fae and a dragon?

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Yes, so MUCH," he says with a bit of a growl, then forces a smile onto his lips.

Fiesty Lotus ignores the Drow and takes Fit's hand.

Fitheach Eun: "Good evening milady; whichever of you addressed me."

Fiesty Lotus: "So good to see you."

Morganza Spellway hears the growl in his voice and wonders at it.

Fitheach Eun squeezes Fiesty's hand and smiles.

[16:54] Juste Rivers: "Missy Saphira, if you is scared you cans come back 'ere wif me and mees will protects you," he says looking nervously about.

Saphira Mistwalker smiles. "I did my lady. I am called Saphira Mistwalker. I am an emissary of the shadow dragon clan, recently taken up residence is these lands."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Little one,"  he says, flaring his nostrils, "I assure you I mean no harm to any of you ... this day."

Fiesty Lotus: "Oh , I think the Lady Saphira can handle any situation Juste."

Saphira Mistwalker grins, taking the hobbit's meaning and moves over by him.

Fitheach Eun: "Ah I am most pleased to meet you; I am Fitheach, elf and Arch Druid of these lands."

Juste Rivers smiles broadly and steps close to her, almost giggling as the wings flap at him.

Saphira Mistwalker smiles at Juste. "Aye, a much safer place."

Fitheach Eun smiles at the lovely fae; "And you milady; how are you called?"

Juste Rivers grabs a chicken leg and offers it to Saphira, smiling.

Morganza Spellway: "Morg."

 Fitheach Eun: "Greetings Morg."

Morganza Spellway bows my head, "Glad to meet you."

Saphira Mistwalker nods and takes the chicken leg. "Thank you Juste."

Morganza Spellway trembles being this close to the Drow.

Fitheach Eun nods : "And I to meet you"

Ilmryn Xyltyn walks over to the stall, his fingers playing at the skirt on the table, "Such wonderful looking foods."

Fiesty Lotus reaches out and touches Morganza's hand.

Fitheach Eun watches him without seeming to.

Saphira Mistwalker flares her nostrils again, detecting an unusual scent.

Juste Rivers tugs at Saphira's arm, "Maybe mees should stand behinds you? Dats the best place for mees to protect yous."

Juste Rivers: And he skitters behind her, his head peeping around to stare at the Drow.

Saphira Mistwalker giggles. "If you prefer."

Fiesty Lotus watches Juste.

Fitheach Eun notices the hobbit behind the table and smiles: " Why Juste, how are you?"

Juste Rivers: "Mees is jus fine, Missy Druid Fit. Mees busy wif da protecting so mees does not get kilt by the dowrie."

Morganza Spellway: "Could I have a cup of goats milk and a crust of bread please and a apple?"

Fiesty Lotus shakes her head but says nothing

Fiesty Lotus: "Yes dear."

Morganza Spellway: "I am quite famished."

Fiesty Lotus: "That will be three copper."

Ilmryn Xyltyn turns to Fitheach, careful to mask his fangs, "So you are an Arch Druid Lady Fit? Where do you... live?"

Morganza Spellway reaches into her pouch and pulls out a small emerald, "Will this do?"

Saphira Mistwalker leans over to Juste and whispers, "What do I owe you for that chicken leg? It was quite delicious."

Fitheach Eun looks coldly at the drow: "I am an elf; where do you think I would live?"

Juste Rivers: "Dat bees a present Missy Saphira cause you.....er....well. der is no cost for it."

Fiesty Lotus nods at Juste

Saphira Mistwalker: "Awww, thank you Juste."

Ilmryn Xyltyn cuts his eyes to look at the hobbit, pushing out small threads of power as he feeds off the hobbits fear.

Fitheach Eun shakes her head, feeling a disturbance and wondering.

Saphira Mistwalker frowns, as she senses an odd stirring of power nearby.

Juste Rivers: 'Im lookin at mees, 'im looking at mees," the hobbit screams and runs from the market, his arms flailing in the air. He crosses the bridge and runs lickity split toward Hobbit Shire.

 Fiesty Lotus: "Oh dear Juste."

Saphira Mistwalker looks over in surprise.

Morganza Spellway turns to follow the hobbit with her eyes.

Fitheach Eun follows the fleeing hobbit with my eyes and then regards the Drow again coldly.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "I am..... I did not mean to... frighten him," he says licking his tongue over his teeth.

Morganza Spellway: "You sir would frighten anyone."

Fiesty Lotus: "If you have no business with us I believe you need to leave."

Ilmryn Xyltyn cuts his eyes to the faery, his face impassive  and he steps closer to her with a growl, "You are not being kind. I am. But, I do not have to be faery."

Fiesty Lotus simmers and looks to Fit.

Fitheach Eun: "Yes this is a market; it is customary to buy things."

Saphira Mistwalker steps around the table to stand with the others.

Morganza Spellway backs up suddenly, ready to fly.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: I believe Lady Fiesty offered me a squab earlier and I offered this small gem for it," he says holding out his hand to show the gem.

 Fitheach Eun looks to Fiesty.

Fiesty Lotus: "Take a squab and leave us."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Your King gave me leave to travel these lands if I ...behave myself," he says with a smirk. "You are asking me to leave?"

Fiesty Lotus glances at at the moving Fae.

Fitheach Eun: "We are suggesting that if you are not here to shop; then you should go."

Saphira Mistwalker frowns, and nonchalantly draws one of her daggers, turning it over in her hands and testing the edge.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "So cordial,"he says with a hiss, flicking his tongue into the air. "I have done NOTHING to warrant such behavior."

Saphira Mistwalker peers closely at the edge of the dagger, then smiles and sheathes it again.

Fitheach Eun grounds myself in the earth and reaches down seeking support.

Fitheach Eun: "We are not seeking confrontation, sir Drow, but you seem to be."

Fiesty Lotus just blinks.

lmryn Xyltyn moves closer to them, growling, "I am sorely disappointed,"  he says watching the dragon with her dagger.

Fitheach Eun: "And I did not catch you name?"

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "My name is Ilmryn, as I told your friends when I first arrived. They were quite cordial until you arrived," he hisses.

 Fitheach Eun: "Were they?"

Saphira Mistwalker hisses laughter. "Cordial lord Drow? Tolerant I saw, but not cordial."

Fitheach Eun smiles at Saphira.

Fitheach Eun continues to regard the Drow coldly.

Ilmryn Xyltyn cuts his eyes at the dragon, then turns to the hobbit, "Thank you for your kindness Lady Fiesty,"  and he moves between the elf and the dragon, his shoulder pushing in her direction as if to bump her as he passes away from them.

Saphira Mistwalker: "Hmmpf, A most annoying individual, even for a Drow."

Fiesty Lotus looks mildly satisfied.

Fitheach Eun: "Yes I agree."

Fitheach Eun: "The Druid should know of this."

Morganza Spellway: "A lot of his power is there."

Saphira Mistwalker: "Heh, A dragon does not fear to look into his eyes, even one with the odd taint I sense."

Fiesty Lotus: "Hmm, He said he spoke with the Druid."

Fitheach Eun: "I do not fear him but he reminds me of someone."

Morganza Spellway: "What is it you smell Mistress Saphira?"

Saphira Mistwalker: "I am not sure, there is something more I sense than a Drow."

Fiesty Lotus: "That is interesting."

Saphira Mistwalker: "Tell me, do you know if he worships Lloth, or Ellistrae?"

Fiesty Lotus: "Drow be bad enough."

Fitheach Eun: "I would lean toward lloth based on his manner."

Saphira Mistwalker: "As would I, but even so, there is something else about him I sense. Even for a Lloth drow, there is something more evil."

Fitheach Eun: "Yes and it is somehow familiar."

Saphira Mistwalker: "We dragons have an excellent sense of smell, but there is something more I sense."

Fitheach Eun: "I think we need to talk with the King."

The Demon Confesses to Xella

Ilmryn Xyltyn paced his small quarters in the Underdark. He had had contact with virtually no one since the troublesome gypsy. He rolled his shoulders as if to relieve tension. He could taste his pulse racing as memories of the kill returned to him. And he was hungry, again.

Ilmryn Xyltyn flicked his tongue at the corner of his mouth and slowly slid it across his teeth and he moved down the long length of steps from his refuge.

Xella Steward lays on the rocks letting the sound of the falls calm her,

Xella Steward now has more a cold rage instead of hot anger.

Ilmryn Xyltyn passes from the darkness of the caves. His head jerks and his eyes lower to shelter himself from the light. He begins to move effortlessly through the forests, crossing a river, nearing the human city.

Ilmryn Xyltyn's nostrils flare, "A familiar scent," he says almost inaudibly, flicking his tongue at the air and slowly moving eastward toward the elven city.

Xella Steward touches the water, "Was Dina right.......did I kill her?"

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Xella," he whispers, a smile stretching at his thin lips as he remembers the mermaid and makes his way, following her scent.

Ilmryn Xyltyn takes to the air to avoid the elven bridge or any he might encounter on the ground and moves swiftly to the falls the mermaid is known to frequent.

Xella Steward tenses, hearing someone near.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Aha," he whispers, the sound trailing behind him as he cautiously flies closer to the ground, seems to move like liquid over the glassy lake and light near Xella.

Xella Steward looks up and sees Ryn next to her.

Xella Steward looks at him an smiles weakly, "Hello Sir."

Ryn and Xella

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Greetings, Jalil," he says softly, his charm flowing much like magic. "How... very... nice to find you...here." And he settles down near to her, squatting on one knee.

Xella Steward smiles remembering him saying it means lady.

Xella Steward: "Good to see you too............." she tenses knowing she has to ask him.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Do you mind if I join you, Jalil? I have ... missed our talks," he says softly cocking his head a  bit.

Xella Steward nods, "Please sit.....I've missed it too."

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods, his face impassive, the smile gone. He reaches his arm to let his fingers play with the water slapping on the rock. "Tell me how you have been? All is well in these lands I assume?"

Xella Steward shakes head no, "You remember my friend Dina............the gypsy I told you of?"

Xella Steward fights tears at the memory.

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods and swallow, "I remember. She did...well.... does not like me," he says quickly correcting himself. She was... rather mean to me, Jalil."

Xella Steward nods, "She was murdered."

Ilmryn Xyltyn cocks his head and turns his gaze on her face, his eyes pushing at hers, "Why do you say.... murdered, Jalil?"

Xella Steward looks at him, "Kat found her........said the demon got her."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Yet murder is such a harsh word," he whispers leaning closer to her, flicking his tongue at the air. "I smell a male. Your mate?"

Xella Steward blinks at the change in subject, then blushes, "Yes.......my nulma has returned from sea."

Ilmryn Xyltyn forces a smiles and reaches out to gently place his fingers under her chin, to raise her face to look at him squarely, "You love him, yes? He is your family?"

Xella Steward nods and looks into his eyes, "He is my heart, if anything happened to him,,,,,,,,I would be lost."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Tell me, Jalil. I know your nature. Is there ANYTHING you would not do to protect him or even YOUR kind?"

Xella Steward shakes head.

Xella Steward looks at ryn, "He is my nulma, without him I am little more then a demon myself."

Ilmryn Xyltyn rises and begins to pace on the flat rocks beneath the fall, "You are my friend and I have... always... been.... well.... I have never lied to you."

Xella Steward nods, "I know."

Ilmryn Xyltyn bites his lip hard, pushing a fang into it until blood trickles and he begins to lick at the blood.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "This gypsy was right, Jalil. I AM a demon."

Xella Steward looks at him, "Tell me..........did you kill Dina?"

Xella Steward eyes widen.

Ilmryn Xyltyn turns quickly, effortlessly and kneels beside her, ""But, you yourself said many think your kind demonic. Are we so very different, really Jalil? We did not choose what we are but we cannot circumvent those things that are our nature, that push us to protect our own kind, OUR family."

Xella Steward blinks, "You only kill........to survive?"

Xella Steward understands what he is saying.

Xella Steward can understand killing to survive, but not killing for the fun of it.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "I kill.... yes.... to survive," he whispers. "I am.... alone here and save what magic I have, I am but a monster at large whom the people of these lands would kill without a thought."

Xella Steward looks at him, "Did Dina threaten you?"

Xella Steward tries to remember all that was said about the demon.

Ilmryn Xyltyn closes his eyes a moment and pushes threads of calm toward the mermaid before he speaks further, "She did. Her sight would have been my undoing and ultimately my death. I....I....took her life to ... save myself. And....I am truly sorry that I brought such sorrow to you." And he rises and takes a step or two away from her, his back to her. "I should go now and visit you no more, I have.... disappointed... you," he says his lips turning into a bit of a smirk that she does not see.

Xella Steward: "No......don't go."

Ilmryn Xyltyn pauses and licks at his lips, smiling before he turns to her, his face again impassive, "I must.... I should.....I am not a good friend. For I assure you, I will do what is necessary to protect myself always. It is best I go."

Xella Steward looks at him, coming to a decision, "I understand........why you did what..you did."

Xella Steward "I have killed many....to keep me and my Ron safe."

Ilmryn Xyltyn kneels down beside her, "You understand, truly. I will not expect forgiveness for what I did was horrific. But, that you.... understand, Jalil."

Xella Steward nods. "The one that threatened you was one my best friends.........that is hard, but I understand the trouble."

 Xella Steward remembers.

Xella Steward: "You hurt Kat, didn't you?"

Xella Steward: "And Jae............you plan to harm him?"

Xella Steward looks at him eyes wide.

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods, "You would do the same to protect your mate, Jalil. And I understand that. Even if you took the life of a friend, though I have none, I would understand your reasoning."

Xella Steward looks at him waiting for a good reason for harming Kat and Jae,

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "I have never lied to you and I shall not begin now. Yes, it was me. I thought her to be a danger, but have realized she is just a helpless female and poses no threat to me. I promise I will not harm her again."

Xella Steward smiles softly and nods, "Please..make it up to her."

Xella Steward pats the rocks.

Ilmryn Xyltyn settles down comfortably, "Make it...up to her. You mean the other Gypsy?"

Xella Steward looks at him "I will keep your secret.....for I do consider you a friend........simply trying to survive."

Xella Steward nods "To kat......."

Ilmryn Xyltyn inhales a deep unnecessary breath, "And how would I do such a thing. Would not my just avoiding her and letting her live her inconsequential little life be enough?"

Xella Steward eyes narrow, "There lives may be short.....but they are full of life.............but yes.......I see your point."

Xella Steward nods and looks at him.

Xella Steward: "You are alone..........no family? no one of your kind?"

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods to the north, "I live in those mountains, in dark and shadows. If I have lied to you and you find me other than forthcoming, now you know where you can find me, " he says pausing for a moment. "No. I am alone, no family. I am, as far as I know, the last of my line."

Xella Steward looks at him unable to imagine being alone.......even though there are almost no mer left, but still there.

Xella Steward nods and looks at him.

Xella Steward: "Please do not stop visiting me."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "You are truly my only friend, Jalil. That is why I risked telling you the truth. I would rather lose our friendship than.... lie to you."

Xella Steward smiles at him and nods.

Xella Steward: "Thank you, you risked it all."

Xella Steward will not turn her back on him.

Xella Steward smiles at him.

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "And should you need me ever... for anything....." and he reaches down to pick up a small flat stone. His fingers push into the stone, pushing out threads of power which infuse it. "Take this," and he reaches for her hand to lay it gently. "Take this and should you ever need me, break it. I will know and I will find you."

Xella Steward takes the stone, and holds it close.

Xella Steward runs a hand over her tail, then pulls one her scales.

Xella Steward winces then offers it to him.

Xella Steward: "This scale will show, you are a friend of mers."

Ilmryn Xyltyn watches her and reaches to take the scale, "You should not have caused yourself pain for me, Jalil."

Xella Steward smiles at him "I rather take the pain then have one my friends harmed."

Xella Steward thinks of Dina, feeling sad.

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods and looks away, "I am truly sorry about your friend. But.... your understanding is...." and his words falter and he languishes between his nature to lie and a fondness for the mermaid. "I...I ... am glad we are still friends."

Xella Steward nods understanding the trouble, "She threatened you, I am sure......if someone threatened Ron or I........they would be with the fishies instantly."

Xella Steward growls softly.

Ilmryn Xyltyn nods and turns to the direction of the mountains, "I must go, but I will find you again soon, Jalil."

Xella Steward nods and waves, holding the stone close.

The Stone that Binds us - Remembrance Bridge

The centerpiece of our past lives was left behind, a wondrous elven stone bridge aptly named Remembrance Bridge. On it, a plaque hung which read "IN MEMORIAM This Bridge is dedicated to All those Loved and Dear who have taken the Swan Ship to the Other Side of the Myst. May You Wait for Us."
All of us River Landers know it's meaning, it's history. But, many of our new readers do not. The concept of the bridge came after a Luminary Ceremony, a fundraiser for RFL. We, the River Landers, wanted to erect something remarkable on that spot that would forever remind us of the fluidness of life; something magical where folks could go to sit in quiet and reflect on their loved ones who had taken the journey home.
To that end, my dear friend, Rosslyn Guardian, created Remembrance Bridge and gave it to the River Landers to place in memory and to honor all those who had taken the journey home, ahead of us. In tRLs IWz, this bridge was an OOC (Out of Character) area even though it sat in the midst of our role play lands.
And again, Rosslyn has given us Remembrance Bridge and it sits, again, in the middle of our role play lands in the Great Canadian Grid. Still, it is a place for any who wish to come and sit in quiet, to reflect and speak with loved ones.

Free Medieval Housing in tRLS

The folks in tRLs have answered the call!

Due to the great influx of arrivals on the GCG and the lack of housing, we have created a medieval community where new folk can live temporarily, for free, while they explore GCG and the Hypergrid. The area is OOC (Out of Character) and above ground.
If you are exploring GCG and need a temporary home to change, etc, or just chill after a hard day of shopping, partying or exploring in Canada, traveling the Hypergrid and picking up FREE stuff, contact me in the Great Canadian Grid.

Kathena Tells Jaekob the News

Our first market was bittersweet. OOCly, it rocked as we had a large gathering and several new folks. ICly Jaekob learned of Dina's death. This is but an excerpt of the entire role play which was far to long to post in its entirety. We welcome YOU to come join us. Whether you are new to role play or experienced, there is a place for YOU in the River Lands Medieval Fantasy Roleplay Community. GCG.

Jaekob Faolan turns and whispers to Kathena, "Is Xella okay?:

Kathena Mavendorf eyes tear up a bit but she nods softly, "It's not her that's the problem. Please Jaekob, we need to talk."

Jaekob Faolan nods to Kathena, "Of course, my dear friend." And he follows her away from the group.

Jaekob Faolan: "Are you okay, Kathena?"

Kathena Tells Jaekob Dina is Dead

Kathena Mavendorf swallows hard and steadies herself before beginning to speak. "Jaekob, Dina is.....dead."

Jaekob Faolan: "Wha...what do you MEAN? Dina is.... Whatever is..." and his face immediately becomes pale and drawn knowing she speaks the truth.

Kathena Mavendorf blinks away a tear and breathes deeply. "I had not heard from anyone in some time, so I decided to return as fast as I could. When I arrived, I....could smell his scent by the gypsy camp. I......she....I found her body on the ground."

Jaekob Faolan: "HIS? You mean the DEMON?" he says with a growl as he bites hard into his lip.

Kathena Mavendorf nods as her face changes from sorrow to anger, "I'm done running and hiding. I mean to end him!"

Jaekob Faolan turns to look at the gathering, the people he was responsible for and spoke softly with a dry throat as his hand reached out to her arm, "You are to do nothing foolish. I will not lose another friend to that creature. I....the....Druids will see to him."

Fiesty Lotus nods decisively.

Fiesty Lotus: "Fit is coming I hear."

Fiesty Lotus: "We shall be strong."

Jaekob Faolan: "Our mistake was in not killing him the first time we encountered him. We will be more diligent the next," he growls, clenching and unclenching his hands.

Kathena Mavendorf pulls her arm away in anger, "You will NOT get in my way. I mean to destroy this THING, if it's with the last breath in my body, and no one, not even YOU should stand in my way!"

Jaekob Faolan: "That we will my Druid sister. He cannot defeat the three of us," he says turning his attention back to Kathena.

Fiesty Lotus looks sadly at Kathena.

Juste Rivers: "Den it bees true? Da demon done kilt Missy Dina," he screams, flailing his puny arms and dives under the market stall whimpering, curled up in a little ball.

Juste Rivers grabs hold of Fiesty's skirt tails, *Da demon is coming, da demon gone kill us all Missy Druid Fiesty."

Fiesty Lotus: "It will be alright- the Master Druid will make it all right."

Juste Rivers: "Mees can lives wif you till dey catches 'im? You keeps me safe from da demon and da dowries?"

Juste and Fiesty at Market

Fiesty Lotus: "Be calm- we will prevail dear."

Piri Pepper hangs back.

Fiesty Lotus pets the hand of Juste very lightly.

Jaekob Faolan looks at Kathena, his face passive, "Lets join our friends hmmm. No need to frighten everyone."

Saphira Mistwalker sniffs at the foods on the table, and tries not to drool.

Saphira Mistwalker, Dragon, New Member

Fiesty Lotus: "You certainly may."

Fiesty Lotus: "It is a poor place but I will make it safe."

Kathena Mavendorf looks upset her eyes fueled by her anger towards the demon. "I think, I shall return to my camp. I need to water my horse."

Housing Crisis Hits GCG

Taken from the Coran Journal which covers the comings and going and happenings on the Great Canadian Grid -

You don’t get to report this too often in regards to an OpenSim grid – too many people and not enough housing available. Since the days of  SecondLife it has always been the opposite. Everywhere you traveled in SecondLife and many OpenSim grids you could find entire housing districts sitting empty due to a lack of potential inhabitants.
The “housing crisis”, however, is exactly what is happening in the    Great Canadian Grid. The recent explosion in population in the grid has turned Freelands regions into upscale refugee camps as friends share parcels until housing becomes available. The Great Canadian Grid had a population of 650 on March 13, 2015 while today’s stats show a population of 1,182 – with 933 online in the last thirty days (78% return rate). “At any random time you check the   stats    you can find anywhere from 25 to 55 people online at once” said Winter Silversmith, “it causes some delays but none that can’t be resolved with a little patience”.  [we checked, right now, while writing this article at 9:49am on a Thursday – 43 online]
The River Lands Medieval Fantasy Roleplay Community has eleven regions now in their continent. Any new residents who have come to Great Canadian Grid to RolePlay in a medieval environment are encouraged to contact Jaekob Faolan for information. “I would find a place to set up a farm or cottage for you to live on in character”, Jaekob said. “I’m always online to help” he added.
We have set up  some simple tudor houses where new players can set home and have a home while they get to know the GCG, its people and the Hypergrid. Huzzah GCG and it's wonderful people!!

Update on tRLS in Canada

In an age where humans existed with elves and elves existed with dwarves and various other fantastical  races, there exists the prosperous port city of Cheshire, a thriving human township settled upon the foremost western coast of River City. This is where you will begin when you visit the River Lands Medieval Fantasy Role play Community. Cheshire faces the Sea of Rivers and a days sail through those misty and often roiling seas brings you to Woodland Realm, home of the elves. Or if you sail due northwest, you will discover the misty mountains where Lothlorien, the home of Galadriel, lies hidden.

North of River City lies the Citadel, a walled medieval city whose streets are well guarded by the soldiers and knights of the lands. When you leave the eastern gates of Cheshire, you will pass through sumptious forests and cross vast rivers as you journey further eastward toward the mountains and the quiet elven city of Calenhad which lies buried atop mountains.

If you dare travel northeast, and it is advised you do not, you will enter the Shadow Lands, a dark, foreboding land wherein lies buried deep within the mountain and caves, the Underdark where only evil can pass safely.

To the south lies, Hobbit Shire, home of the hobbits, and beautiful seas enriched with mer and sirens.

The River Lands Medieval Fantasy Roleplay Community is thriving and active and waiting for you. Medieval attire is required to roam the lands. It is free at the arrival point. All are welcome whether to visit or to become a member and be a part of this rich role play environment. There is a place for everyone in the tRLs Medieval Fantasy Roleplay Community.

Deep in the Misty Mountains Lies Lothlorien

A remarkable and lush land of beauty and peace lays deep in the mountains. It's said if you visit, you may come upon the elf known as Galadriel.

Mallorn Tree
Early in the First Age some of the Eldar left the Great March and settled in the lands east of the Misty Mountains
Lothlorien

Galadriel's Ring enriched the land by preserving its flora from death and decay, and in wielding it she created a powerful ward against all creatures of evil intent. There the Great Mallorn trees grew.

Kathena Tells Xella that her Friend is Dead!

Kathena Mavendorf yesterday's events weigh heavily on her heart and mind. Keeping to gypsy tradition, Kathena created a ceremonial pyre, setting her friend on top with her favorite things and flowers. She'd set the blaze and let it burn all night, returning her friend into the earth she loved so much and releasing her spirit back into the world.

Xella Steward watches the gate for Dina, hoping to reconcile with her.

Xella Watching for Dina

Kathena Mavendorf makes her way into town, thoughts of the demon, her friend, the fire, mix sorry and rage within her. Her steps guiding her towards Xella without even thinking. She nears the pond and spots her. A small smile appears on her face as she is glad to see her friend again, but a stab of pain follows. She narrows the distance and takes a seat nearby.

Xella Stewardlooks at Kat and smiles.

Kathena Mavendorf smiles at her sweet friend, "Greetings Xella, it is truly wonderful to see you again." she speaks forcing a smile though the pain sounds through her voice.

Kathena and Xella

Xella Steward looks at her and curls up "Are you home from your travels? I've missed you."

Xella Steward hears the pain but does not ask.

Kathena Mavendorf swallows back tears that are trying to push to the surface, "Aye my friend, I am. It had been too long since I had word from my friends and I began to worry. I assured the Wizard Arwyn, that I would be quite alright with my friends."

Xella Steward nods and smiles "I'm glad you home! I am sure Dina will be too, and King Jae, and everyone else!"

Kathena Mavendorf the mention of Dina's name cuts through her like a knife as the pain was instantly reflected on her face, her eyes glassy with fresh formed tears. She swallows as she drops her face a bit, before finally speaking the words out loud. "Xella, I......I have to tell you something about ....Dina."

Xella Steward goes still, dread hitting her, "Did something happen? Is she hurt!?"

Xella Steward stares hoping she is okay.

Kathena Mavendorf closes her eyes as silent tears begin to fall down her cheeks and she nods slowly. She takes a deep breath trying to keep her emotions under control. "When I arrived yesterday, I was on my way to see her......to our old camp." swallows hard as the tears begin to flow more freely. "As I made my way closer I felt a sense of terrible dread and fear, and I .....smelled.....him.....it....the Demon."

Xella Steward closes eyes and listens, starting to tremble, "Tell me she is okay......."

Kathena Mavendorf wipes the tears away from her face determined to regain her strength before continuing. "It felt just like when I'd been in it's cave....as if darkness had taken over the world." pauses for a moment, "As I drew closer I could see her......" a sob escapes her lips and she stops talking for a moment trying to keep from losing control.

Xella Steward wraps tail around her and shivers.

Xella Steward: "Kat, what happened to Dina......"

Kathena Mavendorf closes her eyes and shakes her head as if trying to erase the memory of seeing her dead. "I found Dina, on the ground Xella. She'd been attacked by that savage. There was nothing I could do to save her." breaks down sobbing as if a flood of unshed tears were suddenly unleashed.

Xella Steward goes still, trying to come to terms,

Xella Steward: "The demon killed......one the few humans I like................"

Xella Steward voice is soft as she processes her anger.

Kathena Mavendorf channels her pain into cold hard wrath, "That Demon that likes to pass himself off as a Drow has drawn it's last breath! I don't care if I die in the process, I will rip him apart!"

Xella Steward: The water in the pond starts rippling as her temper flairs.

Xella Steward eyes glow as she hisses "The demon will pay!:

Kathena Mavendorf looks at Xella as she sees the water become unstable, "Yes Xella, he will! Together we can hunt him down and destroy him."

Xella Steward looks at the water, past words.........

Xella Steward: "He will pay for taking my friend from me!"

Kathena Mavendorf reaches out for Xella's hand, "Don't worry Xella, we will win."

Xella Steward nods and trembles.

Xella Steward sighs, "We cant do it alone....."

Kathena Mavendorf looks around, "Now, I must find Jaekob. He must be made aware."

Xella Steward nods

Xella Steward: "I will, just relax."

Kathena Mavendorf stands, "I shall return after I've spoken with him."

Xella Steward nods and turns head, hiding her tears

Kathena Mavendorf: "Take care my friend. Be ever so careful."

Regarding Notices Posted in MY Group in IW

In light of some rather "unauthorized" notices, I am seeing,  posted in my own group in IW, I want to say simply, the River Lands did not simply fade into the sea. Now some may send out presumptuous notices that are demeaning more to them than myself in the longrun and in MY group nonetheless, but the core of the River Landers are still in the River Lands, now located in the wondrous Great Canadian Grid (http://www.greatcanadiangrid.ca/). And those who opted not to give up what they currently had (though there are only two active) are creating their own wondrous world with our good friends from Brigantia and Oldwyck. I did not leave them high and dry; I sold them one of my sims so they could continue. And I did not fade until they were situated and settled in.
I gave my good friends in Brigantia and Oldwyck permission to go through our group list and contact any they wish to and give them a warm welcome and I thank them sincerely for contacting me and being so above board in their actions. I DID not give others permission to openly poach, as they called them in the notice, River Lands refugees. To that end, I have closed the group to invites and only Pak and Tessa have permission to send messages and my blessing to use the group to their purpose as long as they need to.
And I ENCOURAGE anyone seeking a medi fantasy roleplay home in InWorldz to contact Pak Haedong or Contessa LaCombe. You will be well treated and respected. Huzzah!! May Brigantia and Oldwyck thrive under their wonderful leadership, may roleplay be everything you could have dreamed of for your lands. I wish you all good fortune. And to the wrongdoers I say... well, I won't say it because I am just better than that. You know you did wrong.

The Demon Kills Aldina

Ilmryn Xyltyn: The Demon growls and paces in the Underdark, his red eyes pushing and pulling threads of power as his anger toward the Gypsy Aldina has reached its limit. He clenches his fist as his tongue flicks to the corner of his mouth and he inhales a deep unnecessary breath. His nails dig into the soft Drow flesh and droplets of blood trickle from his palm.

Ilmryn, the Demon
Aldina Gratly is sitting here in this beautiful place,  her mind can't help but wander, "Xella, I can't help you anymore."

Aldina Gratly:  "I feel the evil closing in on me."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "I thought I could control this...her....the bitch," he growled as he lifted his palm to slowly lick the thick droplets into his mouth.

Aldina Gratly shivers as a cold chill passes through her.

Aldina Gratly wraps her arms around herself to ward off the chill.

Aldina Gratly sighs,  "I have to talk to Xella one more time and try to convince her."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "It's time," he growls, a low feral sound pushing through his lips. "It's time for her to...die." And he begins to move through the passages of the Underdark until he reaches the light. His head twists as he shelters his eyes. And he moves outward, his tongue flicking at the air for her smell.

Aldina Gratly stands up and starts walking toward the village.

Aldina Gratly feels like someone is watching her.

Ilmryn Xyltyn takes flight and moves over the forests, his eyes pushing thread of power toward the ground as a chill comes over the land.

Aldina Gratly turns to look... nobody is there.

Aldina Gratly starts walking slowly to the village, her mind on Xella.

Ilmryn Xyltyn growls as he sees her, smells her vile scent and lights on the ground, moving toward her quietly, effortless until he is inches behind her.

Aldina Gratley:  "I see something. Who's there?" and she screams.

Aldina Gratly:  "Oh Goddess,  protect me," she whispers.

The Demon and Aldina

Aldina Gratley: "What do you want? You know I can't stand you. I know what you are!"

Ilmryn Xyltyn: "Gypsy," the word flows like liquid as his arm moves and his fingers wrap about her arm and he jerks her close, hissing her name, "It's time for you to die, soothsayer."

Aldina Gratly: "And I wont let you have Xella."

Aldina Gratly struggles, "Let me go!"

Aldina Gratly tries to pull away, "You are a foul creature."

Aldina Gratley screams, "Let me GO!"

Aldina Gratly:  "HELP !!!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!"

Ilmryn Xyltyn reaches his free hand to grab her hair and in a instant twist her neck to expose the flesh of her neck, "You have....no say....Gypsy.... not anymore," he hisses as his fangs push through his gums and a loud hiss fills the air.

Aldina Gratly: "Your hands are burning my skin..."

Aldina Gratly:  "Noooooo. Please, noooo."

Aldina Gratly" "I...hate YOU. STOP."

Aldina Gratly starts beating on him with her fists, "Stop it I say."

Ilmryn Xyltyn growls as his mouth opens wide and he pushes downward toward the pulsing vein in her neck, pushing his fangs deep as the blood begins to fill his mouth and pour down her now ashen body

Aldina Gratly whimpers in pain, "Aarhhhhhgggggg."

Ilmryn Xyltyn: And as she goes limp, he lets her body fall slowly and kneels over her. He licks the blood from his lips as he watches her body, now frail, become lifeless.

The Demon Kills Aldina

Kathena Mavendorf steps off the boat at the docks at Cheshire looking around. "It's been too long without word from anyone. I need to find my friends. I must know what is happening." she whispers to herself. The peace that she felt in the serenity and protection of Eyrie have left her and once again she feels the weight of the darkness and doom that poison the lands and the air.

Ilmryn Xyltyn inhales a deep breathe as the last thread of life leaves her. He rises and spits the blood from his mouth. Then he looks upward and takes flight, satisfied in his work.

Kathena Mavendorf walks through the once familiar paths through the village and into the back woods, making her way to the old gypsy camp where she and Dina shared many conversations over a campfire. "Surely, if ANYONE knows anything, it will be her." she whispers to herself with a bit of a smile in the hopes of seeing her friend again.

Kathena Mavendorf crosses over a small bridge to one of their favorite streams when suddenly a foul smell comes to her in the breeze. She knows this scent....it was the same as in the caverns when that .....beast took her. Her pace quickens as her heart begins to race. "Oh gods! He's been here!" She looks around in a panic.

Kathena Mavendorf spots a swan boat near shore so she runs around trying to see if there is anyone about, when she sees......HER.

Kathena Mavendorf gasps and runs to her lying on the ground. "Dina!" She screams, lifting her onto her lap. "Oh gods! Please wake up!!! Please!!!!" she screams as tears stream down her face, while she rocks her in her arms.

Kathena Holds Her Friend's Lifeless Corpse

Kathena Mavendorf holds her close, but she knows there is nothing to be done. She looks at her friend one last time and softly closes her eyes. "Rest with the goddess my dear  friend, far from all torment and pain." she says softly as she sobs.

Kathena Mavendorf her sorrow begins to grow into something so much darker inside of her. Her face turns from pain to anger, to hate, to wrath. "I will KILL this demon! I will tear him limb from limb. To hell with anyone who thinks they can stop me. If they don't have the courage to do what needs to be done, then I WILL!"

*** The next Chapter :Great Canadian Grid ***

The River Lands roleplay community has moved it's main roleplay region within the hypergrid from InWorldz to the Great Canadian Grid.

the River Lands, the Great Canadian Grid
With the metaverse of Open Sim at our feet, we are looking forward to traveling around the many wonderful hypergrids hosting stunning medieval communities and welcoming new members to our River Lands roleplay community.

Our time in InWorldz was magical, truly. But financial restraints pushed me to find an option a disabled person can afford and with a real life move coming in just a couple of months, I became proactive. I honestly did not expect to fall for the quiet and gentleness of the Great Canadian Grid, but I did.

The owner, Roddie Macchi is very active in the community, he is a friend to all of us. Heck, I refer to him as Santa. The sims are very reasonably priced, $10. And the things you can find on the hypergrid is astounding, truly. I bought my skin and hair, but everything on my six sims was found free, except the tudor buildings. Those I built! Yes, friends, I have learned, out of necessity, to build and terraform and it is a wondrous feeling when you build a world yourself. Of course, my dear sweet Ame is by my side. She loves the Hypergrid and finding "free bargains". And she has put the woman's touch to the River Lands (click on the tabs at the top of the blog to see some of the first impressions of tRLs @ GCG!).

Many of the River Landers have joined us in the Great Canadian Grid. And I confess, that I am teary to know that people I love and cherish as family uprooted and followed me. The roleplay will continue soon! All the players you have come to love or hate - the Druid, the Gypsy Kathena, the Demon Ryn, the Drowess Arianna, Juste the Hobbit and the mermaid Xella are here to continue the story. Added in the mix will be Xella's mate, Ron, and the avariel Morganza Spellway (formerly Aldina).

The Kingdom of Eyrie lies across the River of Seas. As does the Woodland Realm. So, yes, the wondrous mage Arwyn may make the occasional appearance as her great skills are needed.

So to those I left behind I say this, "I have never met finer people nor loved more than I did in InWorldz".
Please understand this major change and know that the River Landers are alive and well, thriving in the Great Canadian Grid.

"May the rains and storms keep you safe always," he offers a small Druid blessing and ambles off to begin his workday in the GCG.

Curious?

Come and visit, explore at leisure and maybe you'll decide to stay! Everyone is welcome.

Dina Warns the Druid King

Castle Guard: Halt, Aldina. Are you expected at the castle? You may enter only with the Druid King's permission.

Castle GuardTwo snaps to attention as Aldina passes.

Jaekob Faolan nods to the guard who came to tell him Dina is on her way up, "Thank you, he says softly. "Show her to the library."

Aldina Gratly: "Greetings mi'lord."

Jaekob Faolan rises as he hears her enter, "Suilad Dina."

Aldina Gratly bows slightly.

Jaekob Faolan motions to the sofa across from him, "Sit and tell me what brings you to me this evening."

Aldina at the Castle Library

Aldina Gratly "Milord, I have come to try and convince you that what I say is true."

Jaekob Faolan rubs his temple and pushes back into the sofa, nodding, "I am listening."

Aldina Gratly "I have the gift of sight.I see things that are to come ...and sometimes things that have been. But most of all I see the River Lands falling to the darkness if something is not done and soon."

Aldina Gratly rubs my temple.

Jaekob Faolan sighs and bites his lip hard, "And what is going to cause this.... um... darkness?"

Aldina Gratly "Xella, my precious friend, will be the first to fall. The demon will rule her," she says while fidgeting with her skirt.

Aldina Gratly finally she looks into the King's eyes, "Believe what I say to be true>"

Jaekob Faolan: "What do you.... mean... fall? And why Xella hmmm?"

Aldina Gratly "I am giving you fair warning, it will happen if things continue as they are."

Jaekob Faolan: "Please elaborate hmm," he says leaning in closer to listen.

Aldina Gratly "I cant. That is all the gods show me."

Aldina Gratly "I cannot give you details I do not know them."

Aldina Gratly "If you want proof, I'm sorry you will just have to take my word for it."

Jaekob Faolan: "Then what are you suggesting needs doing hmmm? For surely without
knowing what is amiss, I cannot change it, Dina."

Aldina Gratly "Yes, you are the chosen one."

Aldina Gratly "I know I'm not making sense."

Jaekob Faolan chews on his lips for a moment, "Chosen one?"

Aldina Gratly sighs.

Aldina Gratly bites lip, "Yes, the one with the light."

Aldina Gratly "That is all I can tell you."

Aldina Gratly: "I know no more."

Aldina Gratly "I will tell you this ....the demon is here in River Lands."

Jaekob Faolan nods and sighs, "Well, I shall take what you have said..... well.... yes.... I shall consider your words, but am not sure the meaning of them and how to act on such vague information."

Aldina Gratly "Believe me or no, tis your choice."

Aldina Gratly stands up frustrated.

Jaekob Faolan: "I shall consider all you have said," he nods. "And I will talk with the Arch Druid Fitheach as soon as I can."

Jaekob Faolan motions to a guard, "Have one of the rangers escort Lady Dina safely home hmmm."

Aldina Gratly looks at him with such a powerful sadness in my eyes.

Aldina Gratly "Take care my Druid King."

Jaekob Faolan: "I do appreciate you coming to speak with me, Dina. Surely, something is amiss in our lands and I will... we will fix it," he says as he watches her leave.

Talamh na Fianna

Xella's Ron Return's Home

Xella Steward sits at the docks, holding her Ron plushie close.

Ron Steward walks nervously up and down the elegant sail ship.

Ron Steward: "Today is the day," he thinks, "at last!"

Ron Steward: "Land, land!!", suddenly shouts the grummet.

Ron Steward's heart jumps as he rushes to the ship's bow.

Ron Steward: "Yes, land in sight indeed!"

Ron Steward smiles as an image forms in his mind, "Xella!"

Xella Steward holds her plushie tight, "Do you think his ship got lost? They said he would be home months ago....."

Ron Steward's thoughts go back to the first moment he set eyes on her, those amber eyes coming out of the ... bay!"

Ron Steward thinks of her sweet smile, of his lips kissing her, finding his love in her.

Ron Steward: "Xella", he says loud, "Can't wait to have you in my arms again!"

Ron Steward: The ship docks and even before it's safe Ron jumps down the plank and lands on the dock, nearly rolling down.

Ron Steward: "Xella", he shouts,"I'm back!"

Xella Steward hears commotion at the docks, she runs to them just catching hearing her Ron call for her.

Ron Steward looks right and left looking for her.

Xella Steward runs to him, eyes shining.

Ron Steward: A momentary look of worry shows in his face, but then she spots her.

Ron Steward: "Xella, Xella!!"

Xella Steward runs and leaps into his arms, hugging him tightly.

Ron Steward tosses his bags aside and runs to her, wrapping his arms around her and spinning her off the ground.

Ron and Xella on Ron's Return from Sea

Xella Steward laughs and smiles at him joyfully.

Ron Steward laughs of happiness, "My love, so happy to see you, missed you so much all these months!"

Ron Steward: "How have you been? Let me look at you, you look gorgeous!"

Ron Steward laughs and holds her hands

Xella Steward kisses him softly

Xella Steward's fangs show slightly as she smiles at him.

Xella Steward touches his cheek.

Ron Steward kisses her back and the world around his seems to vanish, a siren's song inside his head.

Ron Steward can only think of three words, "I love you!"

Xella Steward nuzzles his neck.

Xella Steward: "Nulma, I've missed you."

Ron Steward: "My nulma, I've missed you each and every day!"

Ron Steward: "Let's go home now."

Ron Steward smiles.
