Audrey and Jaekob Visit Gabriel

Jaekob Faolan leaves the healer's office and makes his way to the infirmary to check on Gabriel.

Audrey Ashgrove glances up wearily as someone enters the infirmary.

Audrey Ashgrove smiles sadly, "Greetings."

Jaekob Faolan offers a bit of a smile as he enters and sees the young woman with the Mage, "Lady Audrey?" he says softly stepping closer.

Audrey Ashgrove nods shyly.

Audrey Ashgrove: "I am Audrey."

Gabriel Raynecrier moans softly in his sleep.

Audrey Ashgrove sees the crown and gently releases Gabriel's hand to rise and curtsy, "My Lord, you must be the Druid King of these Lands."

The Druid and Audrey Visit Gabriel

Jaekob Faolan: "Well met, mi'lady," he says softly looking down at the Mage. "Aye, I am called Jaekob mi'lady and have been...tending your young man since the incident yesterday."

Audrey Ashgrove bends back down quickly and croons softly, "Sshh, Gabe, I am here. Everything will be good again soon."

Audrey Ashgrove looks up gravely, "Will he ...recover, my Lord"

Gabriel Raynecrier: "Audrey, is that you?" he asks feebly, a hand reaching out to find her. " I...I am sorry Audrey."

Audrey Ashgrove: "I think he can hear me sometimes."

Audrey Ashgrove: "...but he never answers my questions, just mumbles he is sorry."

Jaekob Faolan nods, chewing on his lip, "There is no doubt he will recover, mi'lady. The burns... well am not sure about them. They were pretty bad."

Audrey Ashgrove takes the cloth from the water and brushes it tenderly across Gabe's forehead.

Audrey Ashgrove nods.. "Yes, he looks a sight, but that is of no consequence. I hope he will otherwise recover his senses soon."

Gabriel Raynecrier: "What happened?" he seems to whisper as the cool cloth touches his forehead. "I didn't mean to cause........" and he relaxes and quietens, feeling the effects of the herbs he had been given throughout the night.

Audrey Ashgrove croons softly..."Hush now, my darling. I am here by you and you must sleep."

Jaekob Faolan: "Rest, Gabriel," he says moving closer to let his hand rest on the young man's shoulder. "Just rest, lad. You are being well tended and will be up and about soon I promise." And he turns his gaze to Audrey, "It seems he encountered the Demon whilst gathering some things from our burned land."

Jaekob Faolan looks from Audrey to the crystals laying on the edge of the bed. He waves a hand toward them, "Wha..what is this mi'lady?"

Audrey Ashgrove sighs.... "He left after breakfast to scour the damaged area for anything that may help him further his knowledge about the Demon."

Audrey Ashgrove motions to the crystals at the end of the bed.

Jaekob Faolan nods, his eyes still intent on the crystals, "Had I known, I would have sent an escort with him."

Audrey Ashgrove draws a deep breath and continues, "My father is Gabe's master, the Magus where we are from. He sent me with these crystals, saying that Gabriel would know what to do with them."

The Parchment and the Crystals

Jaekob Faolan lifts a brow and reaches out as if to touch them, but hesitates, "Do you know anything about them?"

Audrey Ashgrove shakes her head sadly.... "Gabriel was quite excited when he saw them and began searching his books. I only know that in times of battle in our Lands, my father always collected the dark red stone for our King"

Jaekob Faolan leans over, closer to the stone and feels the power emanating, "The red one? hmmm Any idea its purpose then?"

Audrey Ashgrove points to the parchment lying near the glowing crystals, "I believe Gabe had found a connection between the stones and Banishment Spells. At least that is what I read there," she ends shyly.

Jaekob Faolan quickly reaches for the parchment and only when he is reading it does it manage to ask, "May I?"

Audrey Ashgrove chews on her lip for a moment, "Yes, of course. It is why I brought them here. My Lord, are women accepted as Mages or Sorceresses here in your Lands?"

Jaekob Faolan chuckles a bit, looking up from the parchment, "Females are our equals, truly, mi'lady. Perhaps, even our betters. And, yes, of course they are if they show the aptitude for it.

Audrey Ashgrove smiles softly, "Aye, this is not so where we are from"

Jaekob Faolan: "So you know nothing more of the crystals mi'lady save what is on this parchment?"

Audrey Ashgrove watches him shrewdly, "oh no, my Lord... I believe that Gabriel was trying to imbue the power of the crystals into the weapons, as you asked him to, but if I recall correctly from watching my father all these years, it is very possible for learned Ones to direct the power of the stones themselves"

Jaekob Faolan nods, "Yes, yes," he says excitedly. "That is exactly what needs be done."

Audrey Ashgrove straightens her shoulders and looks the Druid Kind directly in the eye, "I am no Mage, my Lord... well, not yet. But I have watched in secret many years and Gabe was always generous enough to share his learning with me."

Audrey Ashgrove continues with more confidence, "Gabe and I discussed the learning of the Druids. We believe that your connection with the Elements should enable you to channel the energy of the crystals and although the protection offered by them may not hold as long as if they were within the weapons, it may still be enough to help you considerably in your battle against this Demon."

Audrey Ashgrove sits back on the bed and takes Gabe's hand in hers, glancing away from the Druid King, chewing her lip nervously.

Jaekob Faolan nods, running a hand through his hair, looking from the crystals to her. "Things have... well.... we have to take action immediately. Much of Calenhad is burning and the fires push closer and closer toward the elven city with each day." And with that he gently lifts one of the crystals into his hand. "I have no doubt I could learn to use these but not with the skill of a Mage."

Audrey Ashgrove knits her brow in concentration, "It may not be necessary to wield the stones with a Mage's wisdom, my Lord. It may well be the element of surprise that helps you rid the Lands of the Demon."

Jaekob Faolan nods, "Let me take these hmmm and study them? I will leave you to visit with your young man for a bit, if you wish."

Audrey Ashgrove nods and gives the Druid a gentle smile, "I do not leave Gabe, my Lord. If you should need anything further, you will find us here until I can take his hand and we can walk out of this Infirmary together."

Audrey Ashgrove: "Many thanks for your kindness, my Lord. I will not forget it."

Jaekob Faolan nods and smiles, "There are extra cots. You can ask Allie to have food sent from the inn, mi'lady."

Jaekob Faolan: "If you need me for anything, ANYTHING," he emphasizes. "Send for me and I will come right away."

Audrey Ashgrove raises her face to his, tears welling in her eyes, "Many thanks. Allie has been most kind too. And may the Elements strengthen you in your time of need and help you rid this Land of the Demon."

Jaekob Faolan bites his lip, looking at her and then him, "May the rains and storms guide you both," he offers a small blessing and ambles out of the infirmary.
