Copper and Sirius Talk

Copper Heads for the Inn

Sirius Moonwolf: has just sat down for some food when he sees Copper enter "Greetings"
Copper Lotus: Ahh, Greetins Master Sirius
Copper Lotus: You on lunch? Got time fer a quick one?
Sirius Moonwolf: "I just sat down to eat, but if you need something, I can see what I can come up with for you"
Copper Lotus: Naw- I am gonna go get me an ale and be right back.
Sirius Moonwolf: nods and turns back to his food and takes a couple of bites while waiting

Copper Lotus returns with an ale and sits down across from Sirius.
Copper Lotus takes a deep draft of his beer and sets it down
Copper Lotus: So Master Sirius, what kin I do fer you?
Sirius Moonwolf: looks confused at the question "I am not sure, I am still new here, only a couple weeks now or so, I have work here to help pay my way now, so not sure"
Copper Lotus: I'm a guessin you'd like to know what all the jumpin and searchin is all about?
Copper Lotus: The Ambassador and the elves and all?
Sirius Moonwolf: I have heard some , but being new here , I don’t know all the people , I understand that the Aran was an Elder of some sort here , but more than that , I cannot be of much help.

Sirius and Copper Meet

Copper Lotus: Well, I kin fill you in. You workin here steady and all. It's like this. The Aran is King of all the Riverlands- not just leader of the elves. He had found his perfect mate in the Lady Amethyst.
Copper Lotus: She was human. But they were a match
Copper Lotus: And then she up and disappeared.
Copper Lotus: So, elves only mate once yer know.
Sirius Moonwolf: listens patiently as Copper explains
Copper Lotus: He tried to find her and then went about doin his kingly things fer a while. But we think it became too much fer him
Copper Lotus: He went off and we believe that our good merchant Juste and the head of the elven guard went with him- or after him
Copper Lotus: So, the kingdom is in turmoil and the elders and the peoples have got ter figure sumthin out

Sirius Moonwolf: I hope all is well, I have heard some mention of people concerned about Drow as well?
Copper Lotus: Yes, we all hope this gets better. And yes, there were Drow a creepin round fer a time. I lost a good scout to one of them nasties
Copper Lotus: Oh and there be marauders about. They burned the kings castle down!
Copper Lotus: We think they be human
Copper Lotus: Well, that's about the worst of it.
Sirius Moonwolf: I hope I am not suspect, since I am new here
Copper Lotus: Yer seem industrious, I think you will do well here if yer keep on bein steady
Copper Lotus: So then, tell me about yerself.

Sirius Moonwolf: thinks for a moment, gathering his thoughts "I really don't know much about where I was born and such, my parents were killed when I was very young, I am told that my mother was Elven and my father Human, but I am not entirely sure of my background as I don't remember. I was placed into a village where while growing up, I was treated not very kindly, and eventually was forced to leave even though I have never done anything wrong. I have traveled about a few years now , doing odd jobs here and there , but never have really felt at home anywhere , so kept moving after a month or two , a couple weeks or so ago , I arrived here on a boat , and have been trying to do my best to earn my way"

Copper and Sirius Talk

Copper Lotus: Why'd them folk treat you bad? If yer didn't do nothin wrong?
Copper Lotus: Oh were they human?
Sirius Moonwolf: "yes"
Copper Lotus: Maybe they didna like your heritage.
Sirius Moonwolf: "That is a very good possibility"
Copper Lotus: That be the case with lotsa folks. We got some folks in the Shire that don't like much of anything that's not nailed down.
Copper Lotus: Well Master Sirius. Do you have an idea of what you would like to do? Learn a profession? I could steer ya to some master bakers or smiths.
Sirius Moonwolf: "I have not given that much thought as of yet, especially since I have never really been in one place long enough to learn much” then sighs

Copper Lotus nods
Copper Lotus: Well, if you stay awhile you may find  sumthin yer like. We treat people fair here.
Sirius Moonwolf: "I hope so, this constant moving around is getting tiring"
Copper Lotus drains his beer.
Sirius Moonwolf: looks around and notices that he is overdue getting back to work "Sorry I need to get back to work, thank you for the information"
Copper Lotus stands and says "Well, I kin tell you will be a good un ter have around.’
Copper Lotus: See yer soon
Sirius Moonwolf: stands as well and nods "Safe journeys"
Copper Lotus: yer too.
Copper Lotus leaves the tavern.

Can Searches the Shadowlands- Part 2

From Part 1: Can, forgetting all wariness leaves his hiding and steps out towards the dwarfs. "Garoschem - dwarflords" he shouts and stands there motionless.

Can Meets the Dwarves

The dwarfs dash up and turn towards Can, seizing their axes, looking grimly at the human. "No need to get your axes out, my lords" Can says in calm voice " you see my bow sheathed over my shoulder, and if I had any intention to harm or fight you, would I stand here unarmed  and reveal myself to you?"

There is a short silence, dwarfs studying the human and the human watching the dwarfs .... and finally they lower their axes and the smaller one asks: "And who are you, who dares to approach two dwarfs in such a sneaky way ?"

Can Wobbit: "My name is Can, Can Wobbit from Taibreamh, and I came here hoping to get news about the whereabouts or the fate of our Druid King Jaekob and his mate Lady Amethyst, for we are worried.  And who wants to know this, I ask you in return, and what is your business here, for surely this is not a dwarf dwelling?"

The smaller dwarf answers: "My name is Bradni and this is Kadrim my companion, and we are exploring the lands for a new dwelling of our people, for our old home has been destroyed by dragons, and they wasted and occupied our realm. By chance we found this place, though it does not seem to be a very friendly place"

Can Wobbit nods: "Indeed this is not a friendly place but a drow dwelling." Kadrim: "We saw a wounded drow, hiding and stealing away from us, right after we entered here. He seemed to be seriously injured, limping heavily. But we do not know more about him."

Bradni gives his companion a short disapproving look:" Why not tell him your whole family story ...?"

Can looks at Bradni : "This is important news for me to hear , and now I will tell you, why I revealed myself, and called to you openly: I watched you two for a while, and saw what you showed to Kadrim - and this amulet is well known to me ... it is Lady Amethyst´s. So I ask you to tell me how it came to you!"

Bradni :" We found it !" Can gives the dwarf a suspicious look: "Well .... dwarfs are known to be good in "finding" things, especially if they are made of gold and gems", he says, "but this is a matter of great importance to all people of the Riverlands, so I beg you to tell me more."

Bradni hesitates, but Kadrim bursts out: "When the drow tried to hide from us, he slipped through a very narrow cleavage between two rocks, and there it must have slipped from him, or the chain broke, for we did not find a chain with it." and with these words, he pulls out the amulet from his pocket and shows it to Can.

Ame's Amulet

Can slowly moves his hand towards the amulet, and with a solemn face takes it, looking at it long and closely before handing it back to the dwarf. "This surely is Lady Ame´s" he finally said to Bradni, "and I beseech you, to hand it over to me, so I might bring it back to Riverlands, where it shall be kept safe and in honor, till at least the king and his lady will return or we hear tidings of whatever has befallen to them."

Bradni gives Can a long and searching look:" How can we trust you, Can of Taibreamh, and what proofs do you have for your words? And besides ... this is very precious jewelry and I´m not willing to give it away without some profit"

"The only proof I can give is my word, Bradni, and you do not own this necklace .... it still belongs to Lady Amethyst, either it was taken from her by force or she lost it. You only found it by chance or good fortune! But I will give you as a reward for the finder as much silver as I have with me in my pouch, and if ever your feet lead you into Taibreamh, I give you leave to search the caves there for gems and gold, and you shall take with you then, what you judge as a fair prize for that necklace. There is no more I can offer you."

Bradni nods his head slightly, giving a look to Kadrim, who nods in return, and then looks at Can again. "I will trust you, Can of Taibreamh, and your offer seems fair to me, so I take your word and one day we will come to your land, demanding the price." and with that, he hands the amulet over to Can.

Can takes out his pouch, and empties it, handing the silver and a small gem to Bradni and carefully bestows the brooch in his pouch after wrapping it in a piece of linen.
There is a minute of silence and none of the three speaks a word. After some time Can bowed to the dwarfs:" I am honored to have met you Bradni and Kadrim and may your path be always safe wherever they lead you, but I need to go on now, for there´s still hope to find more news."

"Well met Can" the dwarfs answer in one voice, and with that Can turns away from the scene and walks further along the tunnels of Shadowlands deeper into the mountain. He walks on for hours, or maybe it is days, he does not know, for he lost count of time in here, and it is difficult to find the way in all these tunnels splitting up and some ending in dead ends, others leading back to where they start. He had not met any other living thing, except some frightened spiders, hiding when he comes nearer. He truly wonders what has happened, that took the aggression and the wild madness from them. But there is something else ... his heart is easier than it was during his last visit, as if something is not present, that had filled these tunnels with a dark and depressing shadow.

The End of the Tunnels; the Last Drow House

Wandering slowly and carefully he walks a small and high tunnel and inspects the roof for spiders or bats, when his bare foot suddenly hit something. He stops and gasps in surprise: What he sees there on the floor is nothing else than a honey mead bottle...one of the pottery bottles they make and use in the Shire. Juste ... he thinks at once, and new hope arises in his heart.

He keeps searching, and exploring tunnel by tunnel, but there is no further sign of any of the three missing. Can at last comes to the final drow home, but all the mountain seems to be empty.

So he returns down the tunnels, heavy of heart, with head hanging down, and makes his way home. Only once he looks back, before he leaves the tunnels … and it seems to him, as if there was a brief reflection of the setting sun that has mirrored on some water surface. He takes it as trick, his eyes play at him, but still wonders.  At least he hopes he can bring some new tidings that might help others to draw their conclusions.

Can Searches the Shadowlands-Part 1

Can Crosses the Bridge from Taibreamh

Can Wobbit stands at home in Taibreamh castle and puts on his bow and arrows ... checking each arrow carefully, and filling the quiver to full supply. He also puts on a long dagger and his knife - knowing his old sword would be no match to anything he might meet, and besides, his skills are with the bow rather than with a sword.
He had heard rumors of the Aran being seen to enter the Shadowlands, searching for Amethyst his mate, so the decision has grown in his mind, to leave Taibreamh and make his way to the Shadowlands too, hoping to learn anything about their fate there.

He leaves the castle and crosses the bridge to Riverlands, following the path past the castle and entering River City after an hour or so then bending east through the woods and lovely farmlands. He knew this was not the shortest way, but he thought to avoid the mountains east of Riverlands castle and take the comfortable paths. He passes Remembrance bridge to the left, and crosses the small rope bridge leading to Shadowlands.

He has been in Shadowlands before, years ago, and wonders about a bird singing and a single butterfly fleeing fluttering from his bare feet ... and after a while he reaches the narrow ravine that leads inside the mountains.
Can at the Gates to the Underdark

Cautiously and silently he walks in, well knowing what awaits him there ... spiders lurking on the rocky ground and between the last dark trees that dare to grow here. He pushes aside the memory of his last visit, and the painful sting he got from one of these disgusting creatures, and thanks Fitheach again for finding and healing him.
Can steals deeper into the ravine, already smelling the stench of the creatures and coming around a bend, he sees them and draws his bow ... alert and ready to use it .... but strange is the behavior of the spiders today, for they do not attack but seem to be kind of frightened, staying back from the path, only daring a few steps forward from time to time and retreating at once, eying him suspiciously with their cold unblinking eyes.

So Can continues along the path, and there he sees it:  a giant black spider, laying on his back, legs crumpled over the huge belly, and a greenish stinking mass of liquid had been oozing out and covers the ground.
"I really wonder who or what caused it´s death?" Can thinks to himself and has a closer look at the cadaver. "There are wounds on it, likely coming from a broad sword or other heavy weapon" and he silently speaks to himself: "blessed be, whoever achieved this!"

Can Finds the Dead Spider
Then he stands up again, and continues his way further into the mountain till at last he reaches the gates to the underdark, home of the drows. The 2 stone sentinels guarding the gate gave no cry, as they did at his last visit, and strangely one of the heavy iron gates is open wide.

He hesitates for a moment, then he warily steps up the stairs, passes the gates and enters the tunnels and caves of the drow dwelling, dimly lit by a few torches on the rocky walls. He has not gone far, as he hears faint voices from somewhere ahead.
He sneaks towards the voices growing louder, and not long he could hear them quite clearly, although he does not understand or comprehend that language.  He crawls closer, and carefully sheathing his bow and hiding behind a boulder he sees them: two dwarfs sitting around a small fire, talking excitedly as if debating some matter of great importance.

Can keeps watching them intensely, but does not understand much; there are only a few words he knows of dwarfish tongue, for dwarfs only use their language when they are among themselves, so it is hard to learn. Suddenly he was alerted again: he definitely heard the word "usutha" which means "drow" in the common language. And then ...... the smaller one of them pulls out a brooch and shows it to the other.  Can gasps; He has seen this jewelry before, hanging around Lady Amethyst’s neck on a small silver chain!

Can, forgetting all wariness leaves his hiding and steps out towards the dwarfs.

"Garoschem - dwarflords" he shouts and stands there motionless.

The Unforeseen Encounter

The Merchant Plutocracy of Lisianthus

Thranduil dismounted his horse, slowly caressing the neck of the majestic stallion before it bent its head to feast on the lush grass covering the forest floor. The Woodland King had journeyed many weeks now, with only Iolas and Gawador to accompany him and the yearning to gain entry to Lothloriel guiding his path. They rode under the cover of night and used the dim hours of the morn to enter the villages and towns of the neighbouring peoples to determine the state of each community - the wealth, security and principle governmental base of each territory.

For many ages the Woodland Elves had fortified their realm and scorned news or contact from outside. This had bought them peace and security, yet the world outside their hideaway had grown and changed and it was clear to Thranduil that not all Shadows had faded after the last wars. The trio had traversed the River Lands and entered The Shire, they had used a small, sturdy vessel to cross the waters into Taibreamh. Each locality proved to be thriving and well tended, both by chosen rulers and the residents. Thranduil had Iolas take note of each person who governed the fates of these lands and upon their return, the King would formally request an audience to discuss the true state of affairs of each place, the threats they were facing or the fears they held.

Thranduil raised his eyes to peer through the mist shrouded the surrounding glade. They had travelled with a larger boat to Lisianthus, the furthest point on their agenda. The port town, Silverwind, was old in human reckoning, but its existence was new to the Woodland King. The affluent town had become an important trading partner to the River Lands long after the borders to his Realm had been shut against intruders. Gawador had heard seamen from Lisianthus discussing the dangers of marauders and pirates around the River Lands and the rangers had reported the speech to Thranduil.
Initially the King was not prepared to make the journey to this unknown region, but upon spying a giant eagle hovering just over the horizon towards Taibreamh, he took it as a foretoken from the Keeper of Lothloriel, a sign that she may just be following his progress, and they embarked on the lengthy passage to the main port of Silverwind.
And so he stood among the dense greenery in a wooded area just beyond the docks of Silverwind, awaiting the return of his rangers, his thoughts returning once again to the Maia Elbereth and her beckoning that he return to the Light...

Elbereth Appears from the Mist
'Vandë omentaina, Thranduil', (Well met, Thranduil) her silvery voice pierced his senses and his eyes grew with wonder as the form of Elbereth Elentari emerged from the mist. A shimmering light surrounded her and she smiled as his horse raised its noble head and whinnied with undeniable pleasure. 'Aiya, Nahar-ndil selio, manenna sinarë?' (Hail, Friend of the steadfast Nahar, how are you today?), Elbereth spoke with a soothing tone to the stallion. The answering nicker from Nahar-ndil echoed around the glade and he tossed his mane contentedly.

Thranduil bowed his head and exhaled, his voice tremulous, 'Suilannad Elbereth istima' (Greetings wise Elbereth). His voice stocked as he stared at her, her gaze capturing his attention, no further utterances possible. He nodded towards Galdor, Protector of Lothloriel, noting that her companion was standing close enough to be bathed in the vivid glow that radiated from her.

Elbereth spoke softly and moved silently towards the Woodland King, brushing him lightly as she passed and motioning towards a path towards the docks. 'Á tulë asenyë, Tar-quessir vorima.' (Come with me, faithful Elven King). Thranduil followed wordlessly as Elbereth wandered out of the woods, following the pathway behind the dockyard dwellings, past small farms where each animal stirred with gladness as she murmured a hushed greeting and finally came to pause among a flowering meadow nigh by the coastline. Galdor remained at a distance among the trees watching Nahar-ndil lazily feed on the colourful blooms.

Thranduil came to stand an arms length from Elbereth. The warmth of her presence filled his heart with joy, yet he waited with trepidation for her next words. 'Áva sorya, Thranduil' (Do not dread, Thranduil), she smiled and his unease lifted immediately. 'I have been informed of your travels and I perceive your intentions', her eyes swept the crashing waves just beyond the clearing. 'The Valar are gladdened that your decision to seek their Light has brought you here. Each beacon of friendship and each alliance of unity that you achieve between the races not only strengthens your combined position against all forms of Evil and Darkness, but allows the Valar themselves to restore their influence and grace among you all.'

Elbereth and Thranduil
A mighty wave rose and crashed with intensity on the rocks before them and Thranduil tore his gaze away from Elbereth to contemplate her words and the power of the sea in his view. Elbereth also scanned the waters, her words reverent, 'Ay, the might of Ulmo grows once again with each passing tide, Thranduil. The waters of your world flow once again in harmony with the melody orchestrated by the King of the Waters.'
Thranduil thrilled at her speech, her sweet voice enthralling him. He glanced at Galdor and understood the source of his ease and fulfillment. His own resolve was unfailing and his senses were awash with the beauty of existence and his role in securing its protection for all who dwelt there.

'Melda heri, Elenion Ancalima, valar valuvar!' (Beloved Lady, brightest of the Stars, the Will of the Valar shall be done!', Thranduil intoned reverently, his eyes returning to the sea, the motion of the sea calming him. 'Tenn’ enquetielva' (Until we speak again), Elbereth's words lured his focus away from the frothing water and he was compelled to close the distance between them. Her balmy breath caressed his face and she gave him a tender look as he wished her farewell, 'Herinya, tenn’ omentielva enta, nan alassëa núrolya!' (My Lady, until our next meeting, I am your joyful servant!'

Elbereth Encourages Thranduil in his Quest
Beckoning to Galdor, Elbereth left Thranduil with a sweet smile which turned sad and her parting words left him puzzled and wary, "Thranduil, you should consider crossing through the River Lands once again on your return journey. I believe the citizens, but especially the Elven Elders of Calenhad, may be in need of your assistance at this time as a dark cloud has descended over the realm!"

Without further details, Elbereth turned and saluted Thranduil's stallion as she went, before disappearing among a thicker outcrop of trees in the distance.

Fiesty and Copper Search Jaek’s Home

Fiesty Meets Copper at the Bridge

Fiesty had sent word to Copper to meet her at the Shire/Riverlands Bridge so that they could make a pilgrimage to Amethyst’s cottage. Copper was there waiting when she came over the hill. He had left his second-in-command, Andwise Took , in charge of the scouts while he was away. There were a few hand-picked scouts in attendance.

They melted into the undergrowth to guard and attend their Commander and the Archdruid Fiesty.

Fiesty came over the hill and met Copper at the appointed time. She informed him of their objective. “I am gonna need your help searchin the cottage fer the statue of the king. If we kin find it, it will tell us much.”

Copper nodded and they began their journey.

Fiesty did not talk much as they journey and Copper respected her silence. He frequently looked around to check on his scouts.

No Drow or Marauders marred their path and they arrive at the cottage in good time.

Fiesty and Copper Speak with Irime

They met with the Elven trainer Irime there. Fiesty explained her quest to the Irime and she granted them access to the abandoned cottage.

Copper and Fiesty searched behind every piece of furniture and every corner of the cottage but found no small statue of the king. They looked for secret compartments or wiggly floorboards but not a trace of the statue did they find.

Fiesty and Copper search the Cottage
Next Fiesty tried to use her earth power to discover any residue of Jaekob. She found no traces. Finally, disheartened, Fiesty made a place for herself in a corner and tried to get some sleep. Copper kept watch and spoke with the scouts. They would head back to the Shire in the morning.

A Stranger and Some Sorrowful News at Market

Saphira and Sirius

Sirius Moonwolf stands talking to Lady Saphira, with his youngish appearance of only about 18 years old "Ah. Well there are good and bad in all races" then sees another stranger approaching "Hi there!"
Saphira Mistwalker: Ah, greetings Lady Fiesty.
Fiesty Lotus huffs her way to her stall. “ Greetins Ambassador. I be sorry ter be so late.”
Fiesty Lotus lays out her goods and notices a stranger there
Saphira Mistwalker smiles at Sirius. "This is one of the Archdruids of these lands, Lady Fiesty. Lady Fiesty, this traveler goes by the name Sirius."
Fiesty Lotus: Greetins sir
Sirius Moonwolf: nods to Fiesty and gives greetings again "Greetings, I just arrived here off the boat a bit ago"
Fiesty Lotus: Well, welcome then
Fitheach Eun runs into the market looking as agitated as an elf can
Saphira Mistwalker sniffs the ether and turns to the east. Saphira Mistwalker: Greetings Lady FItheach
Sirius Moonwolf: "Saphira mentioned that the inn over there to the south is a good place for lodging" then notices another stranger coming up and says "Greetings"
Fiesty Lotus: Druid Sister, you do look flushed
Fitheach Eun stops and looks from the ambassador to Fiesty,: and nods briefly to the stranger
Saphira Mistwalker: Aye, is something amiss?
Fitheach Eun: Yes I am afraid so... I have just come from Calenhad...
Fiesty Lotus: yes?
Fitheach Eun: The Aran is missing; he left a note...
Fiesty Lotus: Missin?
Fitheach Eun looks helplessly at the papers in her hand
Fiesty Lotus: Let’s see em then.
Saphira Mistwalker: Oh! I noticed it was quite still when I flew over Calenhad earlier. What is the nature of the note?
Fiesty Lotus holds out her hand
Fitheach Eun: Yes a note; here
Fiesty Lotus reads; this be bad
Saphira Mistwalker looks over Fiesty's shoulder and frowns
Fitheach Eun: Very bad I fear
Sirius Moonwolf: listens briefly to the conversation, wondering if he should stay or move on, and turns back to the stall to look at the wares again, thinking to himself

Archdruid Fiesty
Fitheach Eun: All the elves are out searching for him. They cannot find him or Ettrian
Saphira Mistwalker: Hmm, I will have to make some flights as well, if he is near, I should be able to sense him.
Fitheach Eun: Please Ambassador, we need to find him.
Saphira Mistwalker nods solemnly. "This is indeed troubling news."
Fitheach Eun sigh; "It worries me that he has gone to look for Lady Amethyst."  We never found any hint of the path she might have taken
Saphira Mistwalker: Aye, and with the lands already in turmoil from the drow and the human marauders.
Fiesty Lotus: I heard a rumor that she was last seen somewhere near the Shadowlands.
Sirius Moonwolf: not sure of who all the people being talked about are , feels a little out of place at the moment , wanders over to another stall and looks at the wares there
Fitheach Eun: well they found something of hers near there
Saphira Mistwalker: Who did the Aran leave in charge?
Fitheach Eun casts a glance over her shoulder at the stranger suspiciously
Fiesty Lotus looks at the stranger so young
Fitheach Eun: He did not say in the note, Lady Saphira
Saphira Mistwalker: And the council? Have they made any statement?
Fitheach Eun: The council will have to choose someone
Fiesty Lotus: Here Sirius, is it?
Fitheach Eun: The council is out hunting for him as well
Saphira Mistwalker hisses at the turn of events.
Fiesty Lotus: I think I may be goin early terday so you can help yerself to the samples
Sirius Moonwolf: intent on the wares in front of him , he misses the glance and looks directed at him but does hear his name and looks up and turns to those gathered "Yes?"
Fitheach Eun wonders what else can be safely said in front of the visitor and stops speaking
Fiesty Lotus: Come over and get yerself some food
Saphira Mistwalker hisses "Tir yth ti tepoha aurthon xihoodic? (Do we not have enough troubles?)"
Sirius Moonwolf: "Ah, thank you, I have some coin on me, but not sure if it is used in this realm?"
Fitheach Eun nods, indeed, Ambassador
Fiesty Lotus whispers "he is but a boy"
Fitheach Eun turns to the stranger and sees that Fiesty is correct. “ Vedui, young master; welcome to the River Lands.”
Fiesty Lotus: Yes take some food - I think I shall be goin soon
Saphira Mistwalker: What have you for coin my lord? It may be I could trade you for some of what they use here; we dragons are more concerned with worth than origin.
Fiesty Lotus: These be samples
Fitheach Eun: I am Fitheach, elf and archdruid of these lands
Saphira Mistwalker blushes. "Pardon my manners, I did not introduce you Lady Fitheach."
Sirius Moonwolf: nods "Thank you, I just arrived today off of the boat, I hope to find a job soon, anything would do, I only have a little coin left so am trying to be careful with it" pulls the bag out and takes a couple of coins out and lays them in the palm of his hand so the others can see
Fiesty Lotus: You say you landed? Where from may I ask?
Sirius Moonwolf: "From a land far from here named Avildon"
Fiesty Lotus nods
All Hear the News
Fitheach Eun: I fear you have chosen a somewhat chaotic time to visit us
Saphira Mistwalker: Aye, these lands are somewhat beset at present, and the people a tad distrustful of strangers.
Sirius Moonwolf: sighs "I fear that is the case in a lot of the places I have been to, so I kept moving on"
Fitheach Eun: "Though Fergus over at the inn often needs extra help; you might check with him."
Fiesty Lotus stares hard at the pavement- as if it could clear her mind
Saphira Mistwalker: Please, accept our hospitality and stay a bit, these are goodly people, and I am probably the most fearful creature here at present.
Sirius Moonwolf: nods "I shall check with him then"
Fitheach Eun: "And in this season the farms, too often need an extra pair of hands"
Fitheach Eun looks to her druid sister seeking some assurance...
Sirius Moonwolf: "thank you, I do not mind hard work"
Fiesty Lotus smiles at that
Fitheach Eun smiles back at her weakly and tell the stranger:  "the farms are off to the west of the town"
Fiesty Lotus: Take you food from the table. Ambassador, Sister can I get you both anything?
Sirius Moonwolf: guessing the coins are worthless here, shrugs, and places them back into his bag
Fitheach Eun: Try the samples; young sir, Fiesty is a most amazing cook
Saphira Mistwalker smiles, watching Sirius put away his coins. "I am sure Lady Fiesty has something you could eat, coins or no."
Fitheach Eun turns back to Fiesty; “I think some mead might help, dear sister."
Sirius Moonwolf: nods, "thank you" and takes one small sample, not wanting to be seen as greedy and tastes it, pleasantly surprised at the taste "Very delicious"
Fiesty Lotus: Oh yes!
Fiesty Lotus pulls out an extra flagon
Fitheach Eun smiles a bit; " there is no finer cook in the lands and only one who can equal, though we have not seem him lately."
Saphira Mistwalker giggles and with a mischievous grin remarks, "We dragons find it better to support the hobbits for their good cooking then eat them out right."
Fiesty Lotus takes a glass for herself and hands out other glasses
Fitheach Eun takes one of the glasses and grips it tightly
Saphira Mistwalker: Rather then, that is.
Fiesty Lotus is so engrossed in her thoughts she doesn't even notice the playful threat
Fitheach Eun smiles; "That would be a waste, Ambassador.”
Saphira Mistwalker: Aye, it would
Sirius Moonwolf: feeling a little out of place still, since he is new here, and not certain how things go, lets his gaze wander around
Fiesty Lotus: Suddenly Fiesty looks up and says loudly "that's it!"
Saphira Mistwalker startles slightly, "What?"
Sirius Moonwolf: startled, jumps back
Fitheach Eun raises an eyebrow
Saphira Mistwalker looks to her right and smiles. 'Greetings Lady Sunbeam."
Fiesty Lotus looks at Druid Fit and says "the statue, the one I gave to Lady Amethyst to see if Jaekob was still living!
Sirius Moonwolf: looks up at the new stranger :Greetings"
Fitheach Eun follows Saphira's gaze and smiles slightly; "Vedui Lady Sunbeam"
Fae Sunbeam

Fiesty Lotus: Oh Greetings Fae Sunbeam
Saphira Mistwalker: Oh, I remember you telling of that Lady Fiesty. Is it still about?
Fitheach Eun looks back to Fiesty hopefully; “Do you think it will tell you anything?"
Sunbeam Magic: Greetings Missy Fiesty
Fiesty Lotus: I will go to the cabin she was living in to search for it
Fiesty Lotus: It would at least tell the state of his health
Fitheach Eun: The Aran has not gone to that house since she disappeared. It should be undisturbed.
Saphira Mistwalker nods
Sunbeam Magic: nods at Druid Fitheach and Lady Saphira so as not to disturb the conversation
Fiesty Lotus: Fae Sunbeam, we have fearful news
Saphira Mistwalker glances over at Lady Sunbeam, "It seems the Aran has gone in search of his lady."
Fitheach Eun: "Indeed Lady Sunbeam he has disappeared leaving only a note"
Sunbeam Magic: "I wish him luck in finding his Lady love, he has not been the same since she disappeared"
Fitheach Eun: "That is sadly true"
Fiesty Lotus nods- yes, he has been prone to fits of melancholy
Fitheach Eun feels badly about the poor stranger and says "Do try some more of the food, young sir."
Saphira Mistwalker smiles brightly for a moment. "Greetings Lady Talia."
Talia.Sunsong: Humming strolls in; “Greetings!”
Sunbeam Magic: walks up to the stranger and introduces herself... Greetings, "My name is Lady Sunbeam.”
Fitheach Eun: " Fae Talia; Quel Undome."
Sirius Moonwolf: looks at the table, uncertain he should without being able to pay something in return, so is very hesitant
Sirius Moonwolf: turns to Sunbeam "Hi, I am Sirius"
Sunbeam Magic: "Nice to make your acquaintance Sirius, what brings you to our Market day?”
Sirius Moonwolf: "I just arrived here off the boat today"
Sunbeam Magic: turns to looks where the stranger is looking over her shoulder and sees her Fae sis
Talia.Sunsong: Fae sis! See my new crown?
Sunbeam Magic: "Greetings Lady Talia" walks over to give her Fae sis a gentle hug. "Oh my what a beautiful new crown, did mother give it to you?”
Talia.Sunsong: does secret Fae handshake
Talia.Sunsong: I found the crown
Saphira Mistwalker watches young Sirius, and shakes her head. "Kwi ihk chevips yth shilta ti tepoha wux nugriup (Oh for pity's sake, we cannot have you starving). “Here Lord Sirius, from the Shadow Dragons I give you a silver coin. Do get something substantial to eat.”
Fiesty Lotus: you found the crown?
Sunbeam Magic: "it looks like it belongs on your head"
Talia.Sunsong: Yes I found it in a hoard in a cave
Fiesty Lotus winces
Talia.Sunsong: I figured it was meant for me cause it looks so good on me
Fiesty Lotus: Uh Oh
Saphira Mistwalker looks over sharply at Lady Talia. "What hoard in WHAT cave?"
Sunbeam Magic: "oh I hope you were careful Lady Talia, you could of been hurt exploring in caves”
Talia.Sunsong: Not your cave. I can't get in that cave, I mean I wouldn't take from you. I got blown off course by high winds after drinking cream and found a strange cave
Sirius Moonwolf: nods his thanks to Saphira, and pulls a handful of other lands coins out of his bag and asks "Is there anything here that might interest you in exchange?"
Talia.Sunsong: looks to see if Sirius has cream
Sunbeam Magic: "How often do we tell you not to have cream and fly at the same time" sighs at her mischievous sister
Saphira Mistwalker looks critically at the coins in Sirius' hand and points to one. "That one looks to be about the same weight and size, if you feel you must, I will take it in exchange."
Talia.Sunsong: I don't know how many times you have told me not to drink cream and fly. You do it so often (counts fingers than takes shoes off to count toes)
Sirius Moonwolf: nods and pulls it out of the bunch and hands it to her, "I appreciate it, thank you again"
Sunbeam Magic: whispers to Lady Talia in an effort to change the subject about cream flying "isn't Lady Saphira nice to help out the stranger"
Saphira Mistwalker smiles. "You are most welcome Lord Sirius. Part of my work here as Ambassador is to increase good will for the Shadow Dragon clan, and I would be remiss to pass up this opportunity."
Talia.Sunsong: clueless, Talia nods "Lady Saph gave me a shiny coin once"
Saphira Mistwalker looks over at Lady Talia and smiles. "And do you still have it Lady Talia?"
Sunbeam Magic: "we will drink to that 'goodwill and peace for all "
Talia.Sunsong: pulls coin out of cleavage "It hasn't fallen out yet, even though I hit a few trees while flying"
Sirius Moonwolf: goes over to a stall to buy some food, grateful for the kindness here
Fiesty Lotus looks at Sirius
Talia.Sunsong: Hi there stranger I'm Fae Talia not Queen Talia, despite my pretty crown
Saphira Mistwalker shakes her head and sighs. "Have fae never heard of pouches?"
Fiesty Lotus: Well, I see yer got some coin.
Sunbeam Magic: "Love your new outfit Lady Talia, looks like Danger Fae indeed and goes so well with your new crown"
Sirius Moonwolf: turns to Talia "Greetings"
Fitheach Eun snickers: "She is also known as Danger Fae."
Fiesty Lotus: Kin I interest you in some ribs and corn?
Talia.Sunsong: Yay! You like my outfit? (runs fingers over fluffy shoulders)
Fiesty Lotus: Or some chicken parts?
Talia.Sunsong: Yes I am Danger Fae. I fight evil!
Sunbeam Magic: "indeed I like it very much"
Sirius Moonwolf: turns to Fiesty, "that would be very nice, thank you"
Saphira Mistwalker giggles. "Is a danger to the trees she collides with."
Fiesty Lotus: The ribs be 7 copper and the chicken 6
Talia.Sunsong: Trees fear me (nods head solemnly)
Sirius Moonwolf: hands over the silver for payment as that is all he has
Talia.Sunsong: I have mushrooms you can eat
Saphira Mistwalker laughs, feeling generous, and tosses Lady Fiesty 3 copper coins to make up for what Sirius does not have.
Sunbeam Magic: walks toward pies and sniffs
Fitheach Eun looks alarmed and warns Sirius: “Avoid the mushrooms if you value your life."
Talia.Sunsunsong: digs around in clothing for fairy mushrooms "I got them in the Fairylands"
Sirius Moonwolf: looks hesitant about the mushrooms, after finding some bad ones in a forest one time about a year ago
Fiesty Lotus: Oh dear - I think I will give them to you at a discount and a slice of jellyroll ter go with it
Talia.Sunsong: Well a gypsy told the truth after eating a mushroom and a hobbit hallucinated a giant chicken house after drinking Fae juice and they NEVER for get it. Forgive and forget I say. Have a mushroom?
Fiesty Lotus grabs the three coins nevertheless and shakes her head warningly
Sirius Moonwolf: shakes his head, “Not today, sorry"
Fiesty Lotus: Them mushrooms will be the death of the Shire
Talia.Sunsong: awwww too bad. Well more for me then
Talia.Sunsong: My mushrooms haven't killed any Shires that I know of

Fae Talia with her new Crown
Sunbeam Magic: "Are you watching over Juste's booth for him Missy Fiesty? I think I would like to purchase one for later this evening. Eating sweets help drive away the sadness"
Talia.Sunsong: I'll watch Hobbit food if you like
Talia.Sunsong: Looks for sweets and cream
Sunbeam Magic: "watch it you devour it" lol
Saphira Mistwalker hisses laughter. "You have that right."
Talia.Sunsong: I would have to sample the Hobbit food to make sure it wasn't stale
Fiesty Lotus: I am, but I did think he would be here tonight. He was going to take supplies to the king and come back this way
Talia.Sunsong: Come with cream?
Sirius Moonwolf: turns back to Saphira "I would like to hear more about your people sometime, I have met a couple of dragons in my travels that were very kind"
Sunbeam Magic: "oh my, hope he didn't decide to travel with the King on his quest"
Fiesty Lotus hands Sirius his food after packaging it up
Saphira Mistwalker smiles. "That is good to here. Too often we dragons are seen only as vicious and dangerous."
Sirius Moonwolf: turns back to Fiesty "Thank you"
Sunbeam Magic: "I would like to get the pumpkin pie if I may"
Talia.Sunsong: I have important Danger Fae business (is distracted by a butterfly).  I must away.
Fiesty Lotus: Goodbye Fae Talia
Fitheach Eun: Fair winds DF
Saphira Mistwalker: Good even Lady Talia
Talia.Sunsong: Farewell, fair folk!
Sunbeam Magic: "Pray for the Druid King Fae Talia"
Talia.Sunsong: is confused by pray but nods
Sirius Moonwolf: "Safe Journeys Talia"
Fiesty Lotus starts packing away her foods
Fitheach Eun nods to everyone: " I think I should get back to Calenhad and see if there is any news."
Fiesty Lotus: I think I need to see what is keeping Juste
Sunbeam Magic: rummages through her pouch and fines a silver and 4 coppers "What is the cost of the pumpkin pie MIssy Fiesty?"
Saphira Mistwalker sighs. "I must be leaving as well. I will make some flights over the nearby lands in hopes of sensing Aran Jaekob."
Fitheach Eun: Oh thank you Ambassador
Sunbeam Magic: "Perhaps you can hold onto the payment for Juste and give it to him when you see him"
Fiesty Lotus: Pumpkin is only 4 coppers this night Fae Sunbeam
Sirius Moonwolf: hopes that he will hear tales of Saphira's people like he asked and says "Safe journeys, thank you all for the kindness"
Saphira Mistwalker: Good morrow and safe paths to you all.
Fiesty Lotus: I shall
Sunbeam Magic: "Excellent!" hands over the 4 coppers
Fitheach Eun: Namaarie il'er
Sunbeam Magic: "I suppose Lady Talia will want to share my pie this evening. I follow her and try to keep her out of trouble"
Sunbeam Magic: "Good evening Missy Fiesty and Sirius"
Fiesty Lotus: Well young Sirius, I will be takin me leave - I will put in a good word for you with the Innkeeper
Sirius Moonwolf: "I think I will go over and see if I can get a room at the inn, thank you again"
Fiesty Lotus nods
Sunbeam Magic: Grabs her pie and jumps in the winds to catch up with Lady Talia
Fiesty Lotus waves at the fast disappearing Sunbeam

Juste Follows his Master

Juste and Andwise  Bring Supplies to Calenhad

Juste and Andwise traveled through the Riverlands accompanied by a few scouts. They were laden with goods for Calenhad. Andwise was steering an oxcart full of food and supplies from the Shire and Juste had a full pack of supplies meant for his master, Jaekob Faolan, King of the Riverlands. Juste and Andwise spoke in low voices, watching for the presence of Drow or marauders.

All of a sudden, Juste spotted a figure walking down a side track. With the good eyes of a Hobbit he recognized his master. But his master was alone and seemed to walking determinedly toward the boundary of the Riverlands. Something stopped him from calling out, perhaps a premonition. Juste turned to Andwise and instructed him and the scouts to proceed to the elven city without him and he would be there soon. Andwise objected and tried to get Juste to take one of the scouts with him, but Juste said he needed to go quietly and ordered Andwise to keep going.

Juste hurried on after Jaekob.  He watched as Jaekob walked with his head down, and took note of his expressions. Though Juste had moved to the Shire to make his delicious foods for market, he still tried to make time to see his master. He knew of his master’s great sadness at losing his mate and was apprehensive about Jaekob’s goal.

Jaekob Climbs the Elven Memorial Bridge

As Jaekob mounted the Elven Memorial Bridge he suddenly turned about to view his lands. Juste was behind a bush but saw the conflicted emotions on Jaekob’s face.

Juste crept over the bridge and saw to his horror that Jaekob was headed toward the Shadowlands, as he had feared. Juste’s feet turned to stone. To follow Jaekob into that deathly place would surely mean his own death. Gripping his long knife, Juste made himself walk over the rope bridge and follow Jaekob to the mouth of the underdark. His knees were shaking and his mouth was dry. Juste stood there while Jaekob went through the opening and thought of all he loved, the Shire, his fellow Hobbits, the people at Market and his contributions there.

And at that moment he remembered that Jaekob had no provisions on him that Juste could see, while he stood there with a loaded pack. He could not let his master go in alone and without food. He could not let his master go.

So he went.
