Jaekob Faolan drops a few well worn pebbles, a few worn twigs and the contents of several packets of herbs into the water bowl.
Jaekob Prepares to Heal Gabriel |
Jaekob Faolan lifts the bowl into his hands, cradles it and gently swirls the contents.
Jaekob Faolan: "We gather here to ask the storms to aid us in purging that which is unnatural and unasked for. We gather here to to ask aid for them which his harming our friend," he says, his words gentle and patient.
Gabriel Raynecrier's fingers dig at the bed linens, again as if he is searching for something. "Audrey knows," he manages to choke the words out.
Jaekob Faolan lifts his gaze to look at the young man and reaches out to lay a hand upon his hand, "You are safe, mi'lord. You are safe and we will make this right, I promise you," he says with a long sigh.
Jaekob Faolan dismisses the Mage's declaration as unimportant and continues with his ritual.
Jaekob Faolan: "Hear me, spirits of the land. You within the stone and steams, the beasts and trees," he begins, his gaze again intent on the bowl of water he is again cradling in his hands.
Jaekob Faolan: "From you we learn to live in harmony with our world and ourselves. Aid us as we aid you. Water accept my sacrifice," and he dips a finger into the water and then into a small pouch. His finger is aglow with a glowing dust which he dips into the bowl, swirling it about. "Accept this gift as my sacrifice," he whispers softly, his breathing balanced, his thoughts pure and innocent.
Gabriel Raynecrier's eyes flutter a bit, long enough to catch the Druid's attention. ""Ask, ask," and he licks his dry lips. "Ask Audrey about the stones. They might help you..." and as he says those few words he is lost to unconsciousness again.
Jaekob Faolan bites his lip, the words now seeming important, poignant and he nods to the Mage, "I will, my friend. I will ask her. Now you rest. Let me heal you hmmm."
Jaekob Faolan: As he cradles the bowl, as he swirls the contents, his breathing slows - slower and slower. He imagines the water coming to life within the bowl, swirling and dancing as a soft white halo of light seems to surround the bowl. "Water, please aid us," he says over and again. "Help me heal Gabriel, help me ease his pain."
Jaekob Faolan: Suddenly the water seems to pour out of the bowl, in one small wave that splashes down on the Mage's face and like a river seems to pour down the length of his body.
Jaekob Faolan feels his energy drain from him as the magic takes over and floods from the bowl onto and through the Mage. He drops on his knees and lets his head rest on the bed, exhausted. He whispers a quiet
Jaekob Faolan: "Thank you." And he remains by the Mage's bed.
