Fitheach sat by the river’s edge watching the dancing lights on the water and remembering the water creatures who had answered her call at the banishment and later at the healing of the lands. She had seen glimpses of tiny figures in the water for most of her life but had never known what they were until she studied the invocations for the banishment. Now she understood that her primary element gave her the ability to contact these tiny beings and she wanted to get to know them better. Breathing deeply Fit sends out a call of welcome to the water in front of her; intoning inaudibly: “Sisters of the water show me your face; let me thank you for your help.”

As she continues to focus on the swirling water, Fit sees a tiny face emerge and then another, shadowy figures swim just below the surface. Finally one raises its head and torso above the water and winks at her smiling. The small creature which looks like a miniature barely clothed woman laughs and says: “It took you long enough to find us, elder sister. We thought you would never come.” Fit laughs in return: “I did not believe you were real. But now I see you are” “Thank you for coming to help us banish the demon and heal the land; I felt your power aiding mine.”
The small figure laughs again, a tinkling sound like falling raindrops: “That aid you will always have if only you call; we are all sisters of the water. Our sisters of the air will answer too as you have already seen. We are happy to help druids; they care for the land and waters. Fit smiles at them again: “I will remember little sister. Safe paths and fair winds to you all.”
