Jaekob Faolan rises from where he knelt on the ground. He slaps a hand at his breeches as if it will clean them and turns to her, "You have returned from Eyrie already, my Druid sister?"
Fitheach Eun: "Yes, There may be a way to trace the Demon."
Fitheach Eun looks at Jaek soberly, "She says though that this demon is very ancient and powerful and that he deals in blood magic."
Fitheach Eun: "If his blood touches any of us, we have three choices..."
Jaekob Faolan: "Three choices," he asks chewing his lips and beginning to pace. "And wha...what are our choices?"
Fitheach Eun: "We die, we use his blood against him or he dies..."
Fitheach Eun: "And he must not get any of our blood for he can use that against us."
Jaekob Faolan: "Our dieing is NOT an option," he laughs nervously. "How can we find the Demon and rescue Kathena?"
Fitheach Eun: "She said my water bond might work if we place the arrow on the bowl."
Fitheach Eun: "That is for finding; the rescue part is unknown."
Fitheach Eun: "Shall we try it?"
Jaekob Faolan: "Then that is what we have to do," he exclaims rather nervously. "If we can locate the lair, I will get Kathena safely home. That I promise!"
Fitheach Eun pulls her small silver bowl out of her bag and sets it carefully on the ground.
Fitheach Eun: She sits next to it and carefully fills it with water from her flask.
Jaekob Faolan nods and kneels down on one knee, watching his Druid student closely.
Fitheach and Jaekob at the Ruins |
Fitheach Eun: "This water is from our river; it should be protected."
Jaekob Faolan watches and as he does so, he wills his breathing to slow, seeking his balance. And gradually his breathing slows and slower and he visualizes breathing in the essence of water, breathing out negativity and fear.
Fitheach Eun pulls the arrow out of my bag and unwraps the silk; carefully placing the arrow on top of the bowl.
Fitheach Eun: She joins Jaek in breathing slowly and deeply, bringing in the spirit of the water and breathing out doubt and fear.
Fitheach Eun stands over the bowl.
Fitheach Eun: She crouches down next to it and gazes into the water.
Fitheach Eun: Breathing slowly and trying to send her spirit into the water.
Fitheach Eun: "Sister of the water, hear our plea; show us where the one whose blood stains this arrow now resides."
Fitheach Eun: Slowly, she feels the waters move and the arrow wavers and begins to turn.
Jaekob Faolan chants after Fit, "Hear me, Spirits of the Land. You within the stone and stream, the beasts and trees. We gather here this day to ask for aid in finding the Demon.... rescuing Kathena."
Fitheach Eun pushes away the elation and stays focused on the water; watching as the arrow settles and then wavers again.
Fitheach Eun reaches up to the air imploring its help.
Fitheach Eun: "Sister of the air join your powers; aid us in our search."
Jaekob Faolan bites his lip hard and looks from the arrow to Fitheach, a bit of a smile curling onto his elvish features as he realizes for the first time the true strength of this young Druid."
Fitheach Eun watches the arrow intently as it wobbles back and forth.
Fitheach Eun wills herself into the water feeling it as part of her.
Jaekob Faolan: "We pay you homage," he whispers softly looking down again, his eyes closed."
Fitheach Eun: Suddenly the arrow jumps and settles, pointing steadily in one direction.
Fitheach Eun: South Southwest toward Calenhad and the mountain.
Fitheach Eun breathes softly, "Jaek; it points toward the mountain."
Jaekob Faolan: As the arrow seem to settle, his eyes opened wide and he stood, his eyes canting to look at Fit, *Calenhad?" he whispers. "How can it be?"
Fitheach Eun: Calenhad, "As it did the first time."
Fitheach Eun looks back at him in surprise.
Fitheach Eun: "Somehow, I do not think this time it is wrong."
Jaekob and Fitcheach |
Jaekob Faolan: "Then......then.....maybe the dark caverns that lay beneath the elven city hmmm?" he says softly.
Fitheach Eun looks at the Druid: "The caverns where the dragons and spiders live?"
Jaekob Faolan: "THAT has to be it!" he growls and begins to pace. "She was near us all this time."
Fitheach Eun: "That would be a fitting home for a drow."
Fitheach Eun: "If we are going to hunt in the caverns, we should have more help?"
Jaekob Faolan: "Make ready, my Druid sister. I will away to Calenhad for my guards and we will scour those caverns and bring Kathena HOME, " he says with determination
Fitheach Eun: "I will be right behind you."
Jaekob Faolan: "Meet us there, but do not enter until we arrive hmmmm?" And not waiting for a response he runs off and disappears into the forest, his elvish body moving amongst the trees as though they are part of him.
Fitheach Eun retrieves the bowl and arrow and breathes a thank you to the spirits., 'Thank you my sisters for your help."
Fitheach Eun: She follows the druid almost as fluidly.
